Self-driving technology firm WeRide is accelerating its global expansion as the artificial intelligence boom boosts adoption of machine learning in transportation. After obtaining the driverless permit and accumulating certain mileage, these vehicles will operate fully autonomous without a safety driver. These AI-powered vehicles can perform various sanitation tasks such as road sweeping, water spraying and disinfection, as well as detect road conditions and avoid pedestrians and obstacles. Japan stocks rebounded on Tuesday after the Nikkei 225 and the Topix dropped over 12% in the previous session. Other Asia-Pacific market also opened higher. Japan’s Nikkei 225 and the broad-based Topix climbed more than 8% on open. On Monday, the Nikkei saw its largest loss since Black Monday in 1987.
