At least 42 killed after Typhoon Vamco batters Philippines

At least 42 people are now confirmed to have died and another 20 are missing after Typhoon Vamco swept across the northern Philippines.
Landslides and flooding have destroyed homes and left dozens of towns without power.
Residents have a long road to recovery.

from earthquakes, volcano eruptions and a back and forth of super typhoon’s one would really question what my country the Philippines is really made of, what’s keeping us standing right? It’s the love for our family , we may give up on our personal self and lose hope but not for our families. we’ll get over this just like before.

THE FLOODING IN THE PHILIPPINES WAS NOT THE RESULT OF HEAVY RAINS BROUGHT BY TYPHOON.

THE FLOODING WAS THE RESULTS OF LACK OF DISCIPLINE BY THE FILIPINO PEOPLE FOR IGNORING THE ANTI-LITTERING LAW.

IT CAN ALSO BE BLAMED ON IDIOT ELECTEC OFFICIALS FOR NOT APPLYING THE LAW.

TRASHES SCATTERED ALL OVER THE STREETS IN THE PHILIPPINES WERE WASHED AWAY BY HEAVY RAINS AND BLOCKED ALL WATERWAYS (RIVERS, EATEROS AND ALL WATERWAY).

I DO NOT AGREE TO OTHER NEIGHBORING COUNTRIES EXTENDING THEIR HELP.

IF YOU CONTINUE HELPING THIS COUNTRY, YOU ARE JUST IGNORING THEIR LACK OF DISCIPLINE.

    • christopher19843 Reply

Idiot! Flooding is due to irresponsible mining and typhoons now are stronger than before because of climate change. Your name really suitted you, Bastos Ikaw!

    • Cybelle JEFCL Reply

Oh you think we’re not disciplined well? Bobo ka!!!!

    • Taylor knows Best for Swift Reply

Well,it hurts to say that mostly my fellow filipino is not discipline…they’re going to reason all the things because of POVERTY even the truth they are hard headed one😪

    • christopher19843 Reply

@Taylor knows Best for Swift yes poverty is one of the reason because many are living along the river due to poverty.

      20-26 typhoons a year

    • Mini M Reply

It’s not 20 typhoons. It’s 20 tropical storms. Most of them dont develop into typhoons. And many of them don’t even make landfall. In order to be counted as “hitting” the Philippines, they only have to pass through the Philippine Area of Responsibility. They dont even have to make landfall to be counted.

    • Mini M Reply

@Dean Joshua Violante how is it 26 typhoons a year when the most typhoons ever recorded in the whole Pacific Ocean in a year was 26? And the most typhoons ever in a year to hit the Philippines was 19 in 1993. We’ve never gotten 20 typhoons in a year. Not all tropical storms are typhoons

Please stop putting sensationalized information in your video. It’s not 20 typhoons a year, it’s 20 tropical storms. They don’t all develop into typhoons. Many pass over with the strength of a strong thunderstorm and that’s it. And they don’t even have to make landfall to be counted. They just have to pass through the Philippine Area of Responsibility. Many dont actually hit the Philippines, but they are counted in that 20

    • rom tn Reply

If a depression intensifies such that its maximum sustained winds reach 39 miles per hour , the tropical cyclone becomes a tropical storm. … In the North Atlantic, central North Pacific, and eastern North Pacific, the term hurricane is used. The same type of disturbance in the Northwest Pacific is called a typhoon. A typhoon is a tropical storm and vice versa. [oceanservice.noaa.gov]

    • Mini M Reply

@rom tn yes. Not all tropical storms are typhoons. the most typhoons the Philippines has ever had in a year was 19 in 1993. So why do we keep saying we get 20 typhoons a year? We actually get 8-12 typhoons a year on average. Even in the whole Pacific Ocean, there were only 17 typhoons last year and even less the year before that. So how did 20 typhoons reach the Philippines???? Because we’re counting storms that aren’t typhoons
