Experts have boarded the container ship Ever Given, which was dislodged on Monday six days after it got stuck in the Suez Canal, seeking to investigate what caused the grounding that shook the global shipping industry.
The Ever Given was safely anchored on Tuesday in the Great Bitter Lake, a wide stretch of water halfway between the north and south ends of the canal, after salvage teams finally freed the giant vessel on Monday afternoon. The grounding had halted billions of dollars a day in maritime commerce.

#SuezCanal #Suez #Egypt
When is the last time the Suez Canal had a ship run a ground? Was the cargo ship running aground a miscalculation on the Captain of the ship? Or is it a product of the way the canal is run?
They were caught in a sandstorm and the vessel was blown laterally. This is the reality – nature still has power over man. In the end, though, as I read you comment, I felt it should be pointed out that this kind of thing happens SO INFREQUENTLY that there is really no need to now suddenly say that the canal is unreliable. Yes, it would have been better if they had the necessary tugs on hand, or had a way to deploy cranes to unload the vessel to get it to draft higher. But those are not fundamental issues with the construction of the canal. They are issues with how much support equipment / manpower is held in reserve. If you kept those things idling around all the time, because in fact the canal is so reliable, then it would be called “wasteful”, and everything would needlessly cost more to ship through the canal.
The Egyptian Pilot determines the navigation through the canal. I was working on a tanker many years ago and we ran aground in in a sandstorm while passing through the Canal.
@verjon and They have not said anything about a storm or wind. What they have said was there is a sand bar. They tide that goes in and out. A huge cargo ship that navigates its’ way through the canal. The ship The tide have to be in sync in order for the ship to pass safely. Or does the Captain have knowledge of the sand bar in order to navigate safely?
@Thomas Stecyk the pilot knows the canal, not the Captain. There are ships with Captains who may have never been through before. There is always a first time. But the captain does have authority over the pilot in certain matters. I’m not sure about the sandbar. Many ships had be going through before without a problem. As I explained to someone else, there are cut outs on the sides of the canal at various places, why I don’t know. Even all that digging they have done will make one. Anyway, when steering the vessel, it is by sight by keeping in-between the marker bouys which are about 30-40 Meters from the shore. Keep inbetween them and eyes on the ship in front. But, the cutouts can cause a problem. As the tide is flowing through, some goes into the cutout, hits the backside of it then pushes out into the canal. This the hits the bow and pushes the ship to port/ starboard. Just the right amount of wheel is needed to correct/hold it. Then as you move forward, it hits the stern. There is not much room for error.
They should make it two way all the way
They should, they should, they should. “They” should do a lot of things, you should do a lot things, we should, we should also, but we don’t.
They should also look into maybe not making the ships bigger. I mean isn’t the Ever Given large enough? Imagine if were 25 – 30% larger.
I like it better if we didn’t depend on other countries
Or maybe requiring such large ships to use the African route.
Yea well we can’t maintain our way of life without the use of global trade.
Our FLAG 🇺🇸 is made in China ! some people have sold America out and the government has too
Kochi… farming…..
Where are the rocket scientists
God moved it.
Workers who worked together moved it !!!!!!! The clouds didn’t magically open nor did a large hand come down from the sky to pick it up!!!!!!! Credit where 🤔 credit is due!!!!
@Canadian Nomad A King tide caused by a supermoon is why it was released.
Credit where credit is due. God moved it.
It’s a case of over consumption by people obsessed with insatiable appetite for material goods.
You have that right
I’ve generally heard the shorter northern route is around Canada, not around Russia?
yup the asian guy forgets that MOST of the clear water is IN canadian territorial waters … NOT russian … it is why the russians dont have more ports up there … they are all ice locked … the safest way north is UNDER the ice … and sorry but they dont make super tanker submarines …
@0623kaboom i think we should make tanker submarines
Is the Suez canal in the holy bible, or was it only the Red Sea that was mentioned? It seems like former prominent nations in the bible are being highlighted nowadays.
hahaha ha oh gawd you’re killing me Smalls
@Chris Ubias you are rude
We need Israel to fix things for the arabs 🇺🇸 🇮🇱
They need to take care of them selves our government can’t even take care of America🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
With containers stacked this high how can anyone on the bridge see where they are going, rediculous!
This is a huge insurance battle
One wonders as a complete …novice.. I can’t call up the word..but…is the canal being dredged of sand etc at its edges as much as required by agencies without eyes on revenue but only in the mechanics of the canal? Plus stuff to do with overall length of vessels allows through wrt width of channel? When the canal was envisioned and dug out vessels were anticipated into the future as very different in size to these megaships. It also..how well is the canal dredged to keep its sides clear of build up?
Yay
From other reports it is only a 20 mile section that is more or less ‘one lane’. I bet there are a couple of plans to start digging a second one next to the first one.
I hope so. The definitely should.
@Simon Tay A lot of fur is going to fly over this. Insurance companies, various branches of shipping companies, governments, etc over who will pay for even a fraction of this. Insurance companies may not insure ships or the canal itself if they don’t add a second canal. Shipping companies will demand a second one. I rather suspect that some of the largest companies have bee saying this for years now. Not to mention that every security nerd is just recovering from the face palm/punch of how this clearly shows an easy way to ‘hurt the world.’. If they don’t it is a colossal Clouseau maneuver.
Yeah you can see it on maritime tracker, stuck in the only place that didn’t have 2 lanes
something in me…..thinks the chinese did this on purpose….raise prices make money….feels fishy
How so? a Panamanian flagged ship run by a German company owned by a Japanese firm and you think its China?
@Nick G The world is full of conspiracy theory wuckfits.

Idiots in muzzles
Indian sailotrs are responsible….
No
If u look at how successful the Suez Canal has been this mishap is not a big deal. When population increases, u have to widen highways. Way of life.
Hope it tips over right before it exists the canal.
They should use some of the rest ships to pull it
read all the comments, and figure out why this didn`t happen
Fake
northern siberia route … you mean the route even the russians dont use … heck only subs take the northern route … and ice breakers … and besies most of that northern route is in CANADA … and you need to go throgh ice to get by … its down and around …
as for the suez canal … no more ships that cant turn around within the narrowest section .. and they wont get this again …
Merchant vessels have taken this route on various occasions.
@Arvind Bhatty Yes, but it very unreliable. Rather like global warming/climate change predictions that said the Northern Route should have been open year-round by about 10 – 20+ years ago now.😆
lol makes 500billion spend 8 billion and didnt expand the canal enough … go figure cheap buggers probably pocketed 400billion of the income from the canal ..
The video says they received $5 billion from the canal last year, not 500 billion
Egyptian President doesn’t mention it took a Dutch salvage team to move Ever Given. All praise to Egyptians. And in one curious quote he specified “honest Egyptians”.
The dutch team only oversaw certain parts…
An Oxymoron (-8D
President Sissi???
…and the investigation did not start a week ago? Interesting.
investigations don’t start until vessel in safe position
The state of Taiwan has to issue and hold the investigation, which can take weeks for this certain situation.
@BVE masTRUTH no. There are many interests that will conduct the investigation. Certainly Not one entity.
Was this an act of sabatoge? In the movies things like this usually happen for a number of reasons but not by accident.
This is the new weapon of mass destruction stronger than nuclear warheads combined,
Eygpt can use the Suez canal to sanction us shipping companies ship from crossing the canal if us president misbehave and disrespect Egypt
@Lai Lalala joes not here, man. 😋
@Lai Lalala it seriously could be a very powerful political tool. scary
I think they need to find out what happened before they start drilling holes through the earth to bypass the canal.
They know what happened and our government does also
The Siberian route doesn’t mean they will dig more. The ice cap has retreated… as he points out, global warming is going to be a very good thing for the Siberian coast.
We want Lets Talk about lady to tell this news
stop looking for someone to blame. It was just a set of circumstances – wind, sandstorm, water, a high–sided ship…
Maybe, maybe not. That’s the whole point of an investigation.
@derek8c investigations are made into every mishap to determine the cause. It is not a conspiracy.
*Human error*
A boat got stuck , bet the Biden administration will support a 198 trillion dollar study to find out why
They saved the pork for them selves 😡😡😡🐀🐀
The Captain ruin hinself his intire career
Not the captains fault. Why would you even rush to that conclusion. Accidents do happen. That’s why they are called accidents. The false narrative of the modern “virtuist” is to always find someone to blame. It’s just post hoc judgement. As they say, hindsight is 20/20.
We should ask not how it happened but why. It was planned 100%
It makes you wonder, given the huge amount of talk about what all has gone down behind the scenes that the MSM will not discuss.
The theory this was deliberate and well planned out in advance to massively hit the globalist elites in the pocket book seems sort of credible at this piont.
I thought the wind blew it off course and lodged it. Am I to gullible
Yep.
Had to be a helluva wind
@Judy Beckner No idea of the cause but the height of those containers would also make a helluva sail.
how & why …⁉️
📍The most important crossing in the world does not have the largest and best locomotives in the world
📍After 150 years, in every crisis, foreign equipment and experts must be sought
📍For 150 years, use of the canal has not exceeded the transit fee
📍The canal has not evolved into a global logistics center, bypassing Hong Kong and Dubai
📍Militarily, the Suez Canal has always been a disaster for Egypt🇪🇬, and it was never used to its advantage.
📍One ship is suspended and disrupts a large part of international trade, and it costs Egypt more than 200 million dollars and the world more than 10 billion dollars.
Congrultaions Engineering team members
Wait?! I thought masks were a scam in america!! People are wearing them around the world?!
It’s control
No, you got it backward. America has been always the country that did not “mask up”. And interestingly we were also always the country that avoided modern epidemics. But this time the arm of the global brain trust, and the yellow livers of the bureaucrats running US government, was such that they caved to the global propaganda line about masks. The masks did nothing in USA. Social distancing and restrictive “essential only” activitey + stay-at-home orders obviously did something. But it remains to be seen if it was something good.
There should be an investigation. Too many unanswered questions
Only for us I believe all government knows what happened
Maybe we should rethink a world economy that’s so fragile a single boat messes it up and requires us not to scare it by talking about a deadly virus.
Media shills are always trying to peddle a crisis. What made this a “thing” was that it might take “months” to free the ship. Had the reporters not been desperate to generate fear by cascading uncertainty into global economy, the world would have hardly had a chance to notice while the tugs were brought in and the thing was cleared. Part of the problem also is that when responding to reporters, nobody in charge is going to respond with details like “we expect to have this cleared in 6 days… we have tugs coming… it’s under control” becasue then the expectation is high and if they underpreform, they will be sacked / investigated. But if they promise very little (i.e., it could be 6 months — this is a disaster) and then it gets fixed in 6 days, suddenly they are heros and they go to boss and get a big bonus!
Security forces terrorized villagers who were right under the ship to not take pictures. What is Sisi hiding?
naro Canal about talking trash any from avoided be to country worldthird w his wants he than more hide toNothing
The wind blew this boat hahahahaha
Have been through the canal and encountered the winds and sandstorms?
🤣🤣🤣 governments are a joke just patting themselves on the back
Congratulations to everyone who done a good job 👏👏👏👏
@The One & Only yea bro, believe or not i was actually on the ship,it was very stressful as they threatened to not pay us
@SGV Foo so sorry to hear that u was in the ship…and hope u are good shape at last u are otw
@SGV Foo sad
@The One & Only actually i was the captain of the ship, no joke, i tried my best, but i guess it was a bad idea to try to ram through asia
From this shipping fiasco,. US has learned that it can block any shipping choke point by using only satrapies Japanese ship, Taiwanese operator and Indian crew
I would like to take time and thank those digger operators. 👏👏👏👏
Why didn’t the Egyptian authority, just, finish dredging the canal, wherever it needs it. It appears that the whole thing was, not, built for such “monstrous” cargo haulers, back, in the day. Well; duhhhh.
Says the expert!
Perhaps widen canal to fit drunk captain’s sideways boat with a few of those billions “earned”.
Interesting. The canal is mostly unprotected along its long length. If someone would plant a ship mine there, that would disrupt the passageway for a bit longer. Then repeat. Then paranoia sets in.
السیسی القاتل الغاصب۔ وہو رکن الصھیون
Let me save everyone a lot of time and money. It’s the Captain of the ship who’s at fault! Also. The safety pilot may be of partial blame.
going happen again.
I thought the Egyptians would have taken more time than this. Based on the way they walk. Just kidding. LOL

This is really possible depending on your investments curve. Just invest wisely.
@Trade Kings This is more than possible with a financial advisor get yourself one especially Freda Lynn Johnson look her up online
It was part of sabotage to earn more money
Pls arrest the entire Indian crew which botched up with pure negligence , Air India pilots too sleep 💤😴 and fly their airplanes on auto mode 😁😂 Lazy Fellas 😁
Alhamdulillah… 😇😇
Just tell Egypt to come up with a proper solution. And tell Egypt they have a global responsibility to provide solutions and ensure that they remain competent. If Egypt wishes to remain responsible for this Canal, it better be far more responsible as an African Leader. The Ethiopian dam is an excellent example of how Egypt can demonstrate leadership. She has all things balanced on a pendulum. Dear Egypt you need to recognise your role and your responsibility. You have been warned and you must exceed your current competence.
arrogance much?
Egypt This is a warning to you. Be responsible for your role in this world. If you cannot manage The Suez you have no right, absolutely no right to the nile. The two go hand in hand, you are given good warning and reasonable outcomes. In fact you can be blessed with these outcomes, both in terms of trade and water. How much more does a nation require?
you John de Haan are not the master of the universe.
In other words: “We can’t fine Mother Nature for the huge loss. However, if we figure out a way to blame humans…..”
Indian Crew With Israel Conspiracy ?
It can be Sabotage ,if I will go to war I will take over all narrow channel or water way
Well I’m sure after seeing what disruptions were caused by this “accident”, it will never happen again……right?
People will be kicking themselves in few weeks if they miss the opportunity to buy and invest in bitcoin

SELL SELL SELL NOW!!!😵😵😵
Why is everyone a bot here?
Now the real game will begin.
Its too late to make Suez canal jokes; the ship has already sailed.
Hahaha 🤪
stupid video
🌷💐 SALUTE TO THE EGYPTIANS AND CONGRATULATIONS 💐🌹
WHO DUG THEIR OWN CANAL LONG TIME AGO,
FOR SURE THEY KNOW HOW TO DIG IT OUT OVER AND OVER AGAIN.
GOOD JOB THANKYOU.👍
CHEERS.
The British dug the Suez canal
@CruelQuertos true
Maybe ships are just too big…hmm?
Blame China!! It must be either China or Russia that made it happen!!😵😵😵
Just wondering … snow plows plow snow off the streets. What about “Tug Plows”? You could have several Tugs with “water ploughs” to make fake tidal boars. This could raze the ship and with other Tugs tuggin’ could pull the ship out? There would have to be a consideration for shoreline damage per the water ploughing ….
I’m still surprised they didn’t blame it on Trump!😂
They will before it’s over
Currently there are 18 card-carrying members of the communist party in the NSA.
Wow the Bitcoin sheep’s are working hard…:(
Investigation? Really? Nice misrepresentation here. fkr
China.
Investigate what’s on THAT ship😜
Was Timothy West at the wheel?, that would explain how the Suez Canal was blocked.
ISLAMIST BULLSHIT MATTERS!
Great job !!!
Jai Hinduja. Indian crews are speeding back to home port.
I did it 😌
I want to see the ship passing through the canal, or at least moving after it was freed from tge blockage.
But, NOOOOOOOOOO, every channels btings some useless experts
Maybe one day a ship’s length will be compared to the height of the Burj Khalifa.
The memes on this are so funny 😂
With singular devotion and determination the people involved in freeing the ship has done a wonderful job no matter their rank and position
I would like to congratulate one and all for this tremendous job
May God 🙏 them all.
Ever given or EVERGREEN
The 2 x pilots must shoulder most of the blame if not why even carry them unless its a money making scam by Egypt
😂👍
its simple. don’t put indians in charge of anything important
