That is bec demands for cars are mountains high.
So yes, go to work! I want my Tesla asap.
Great insight. More people going into work = more wear & tear on cars = more new cars bought
@Brad Mitchell
great minds think alike. 🥃
Musk himself said, very soon, many established auto makers will be producing EV, so Tesla wants to take full advantage of it’s privileged status as pioneer EV maker as much as possible NOW.
Musk is a hyper active child, when he has PayPal cash cow, he sold it to finance Tesla EV.
Now he has Tesla EV cash cow, he uses it to finance Tesla bots.
When everyone caught up with auto EV, Musk would be having privileged pioneer advantage over them in AI aka robotic helpers.
That is why, Tesla is not just a auto EV maker, folks! Buy Tesla stocks now!
Btw, space exploration is just Musk hobby. Just like we like sking, he likes rockets. You know, rich kid always have rich toy. 😎
Exactly! He wants things to be done, he wants to see tangible progress at all times. It’s refreshing honestly! Great work ethic, takes care of his employees so why not be a leader and go for it!
sounds like he dosent want to work, replace him easy
Boy seat yo ass down
Selling Tesla stocks… Only employees working there are the ones pretending to work at the office. Best employees are resigning.
Sure bud…
Concur. And bought a Hyundai Ioniq 5
That’s quite an assumption…
@Greg Ferguson lmao yea a considerably cheaper POS 😂🤣. Only you would think the two vehicles are comparable. I don’t think you understand the true scope of Tesla. Enjoy your electric minivan I guess.
He doesn’t own any shares and only the lazy people are leaving.
I think he’s got a point. I’ve worked remotely and in office, there’s definitely something to say about showing up to work. He likes to see progress at all times, this shouldn’t be that surprising. Musk’s work ethic is sick, why would he expect less???
he was just on a yacht but OK
He just wanted people to believe he works himself 40h per week so that they forget about the Tweeter Jet tracking boat
what happened about it? idk. Did he travel a lot?
@Sonda Shaull why is it any of your business to ask the same question. I’m not trying to be rude I just want to understand your point of view.
He’ll lose the talented ones because they easily find another remote. Left with those who pretend to work at the office. More product quality issues to come
*Can I have a job here? I’m fully qualified.*
Sure.
*I’m gonna stay home though, just dm me if you need something.*
You’re fired.
@Florida Budget Builds lol. You clearly haven’t experienced working from home. It doesn’t work that way especially if you have the right set of skills for remote work
@phattPhish exactly
@Florida Budget Builds Did….did you have a stroke? You’re having an imaginary argument with yourself.
@That One Toaster I was just imaging a world where this silly bullshit made sense. Hey, best of luck. Convince the world that you need to stay home because you do more work that way. Seems legit.
I’ve trained myself to not think about work when at home. It made it very very hard to work from home. I only have to work in the office two days a week, but I have to go in everyday to be effective.
Awesome!! We need more companies like this. Or those that work at home should make less money cause they are to lazy to do the work.
working from home does not mean you are to lazy to do the work. it means you work… from home.
@The Magical Capricorn and are to lazy to get up and go into work. Everyone I know that works from home doesn’t do work. They don’t even get dressed they are in their pajamas all day.
People working from home is not cost effective. They’ll stop for anything during the work day. It’s like home schooling a child. Go outside at anytime, watch TV anytime, stop to eat anytime, taking their time going to the bathroom anytime— no structure, no discipline
speak for yourself
You cant build cars remotely
You can sell parts tho remotely but that’s anyways and Tesla is-isn’t just a car company my friend it boomed during Covid bcuz of remote work but also dam it’s a long story just look it up
You can build the software remotely. It just depends on the job. A lot of software engineers will leave to other companies that offer full remote.
🤔 his company, his rules. Seems like any job I have ever had.
Did not like working for others.
Now I have my own company. I work 60 hours/week now. I suck as a boss
@smoco3 $+fu
Ah…I see; what’s your business?
Commercial Contractor. Remodel office buildings and Restaurants.
The best job is one they don’t know about not to be a tax i.d…
@smoco3 Yes you would.
You want a job do what you’re told princess
Talk about sounding weak ….ayyyyy I have to go to work now instead of doing it online in my $6000 a month apartment ayyyyy poor me
Sounds like a miserable job.
Not a bad idea. They’re not focused ,facebooking all day along.
If you think people don’t waste tons of time in the office…you’ve never worked on an office. Set deliverables, if they miss them, fire them.
If you can’t track your employees productivity except by seeing them physically in a desk…then you are incompetent and probably know less than you think you know
@revseanchan I’m a truck driver, and since the beginning of this Corona virus, dispatchers stopped working from office. And they are not doing their job (at least the dispatchers I work with). Their reply messages takes an hour to reply back, they don’t keep a track of what you’re asking, you have to remind them every 20 minutes what they were supposed to do otherwise you can wait a week until they realize you’re not driving. Than they blame on the driver for not communicating enough. Sometimes I hear TV volume someone laughing watching a movie, meanwhile I’m waiting for a response for 2 days.
@Vahagn Melikyan sounds like an industry issue. Not all people (or certain industries) can handle working from home.
100% agree. Things get done on location. Covid made people weak.
There’s a reason he is head of the most productive companies in all of human history.
there is a reason, but it’s not the reason you think.
Work at home was a luxury to some.. boohoo you have to go back to work.. everyone should adopt this go to work process
Why Hate on people for working from home. The office is a waste of space if you can just do it at home
@The Magical Capricorn I guess you do as the person who signs the checks says
The guy need to move to China where 3 of his factories are
You have it backwards. Three are in the U.S and one is in China.
@Auron You’re right!
As advanced as Elon seems, he’s pretty rigid and traditional. Almost ignorant. Elders are a bit like this but with a lot of wisdom. Challenging that wisdom may seem foolish but society is always changing. Rapidly changing.
He’s taking us to mars. What the do you invented?
@Vernon Beck Mars is the worst desert you could ever travel to. Lol, seriously dude? LMAO
Tesla is the pioneer In ev. Once Honda Nissan begin producing their own EVs Tesla will be no longer be at the forefront musk is an opportunist not a genius. He thinks he’s a genius every one that thinks he’s a genius lacks the ability to think for themselves. He convinced his “followers” that crypto is great… Not so great anymore is it.
@morningwaves Ford was the leader in car manufacturing then Toyota introduced the lean production system in 30 yrs Toyota has mass produced better quality and more options with less flaws. I bet ppl back then thought similar to how you see the ev industry. Read a book bud or two
@morningwaves ..except that Hyundai has proved your theory to be incorrect.
Well that might be true; however, Once Honda Nissan begin producing their own EVs, they are going to be asking the same thing of their employees.
@Raynette Scoggins time will tell all
Something about him creeps me out.
He creeps me out, too. Can’t believe this guy is a baby-making machine (shudder).
Maybe because you watch to much MSM?
He’s an absent father.
Absolutely true. He warns of AI as he is developing humanoid robots, autonomous vehicles, and cyborg technologies… neuro link
Interesting. Order everyone back in office.
“BOOM💥”
Fucks Employees Wife 😭
I dont understand why he wont allow atleast 2 days to work from home
That I agree with. He should talk with his employees about their needs and negotiate with them from their. – Working a hybrid schedule is a win/win. Asking someone to come into the office a couple days of week should not be unreasonable.
Good choice for tesla.
Working together helps build culture and comradery, support this policy.
No thanks Musk man, I’ll pass
@Greg Ferguson $+fu
@Steven Franchitti productivity has been higher since people began working at home.
As if he’d hire you
Yeah no!
I don’t blame him. He owns the company. Many human nature can’t be trust if they really doing their work at home. Many can be trusted well and deserves the best.
Agreed 👍
Let the other companies that offer remote positions benefit from former Tesla employees.
The beautiful thing about employment is you can find another job, there’s no shortages of those.
For now, but there’s already been a trend of layoffs and could trickle further
@aperkins07 Exactly.
When you reach the top all you can do after that is fail
What?
@Gina Capuano READ it again…
Billionaires never understand the employees. Give them a billion dollars and they will work like he does 😆
It’s only a fulltime job, I don’t get the bitching? My job is full time they want 44 hours a week but I only work 4 days to get that and I’m a fuel delivery driver. Do people just not want to work full time at tesla or is it that they just don’t see the point of working in the office when they can do it from home? Honestly don’t get it.
Oh .. stop complaining it’s a car factory..
Those who wont return are likley the gen z or millenial snowflakes. Toughen up, the world doesnt revolve around you. Get yo ass back to work you little virgins
He should want his employees back in there working anybody who thinks different than that are a bunch of losers as well and should just stay home and collect unemployment
You write poorly and give bad advice.
Happy to not work at tesla…also happy in my pjs working from home forever if I can!!!
Musk is out of touch and Tesla has crossed the Rubicon
I believe 40 hours a week is fine. I use to work in Sales and used to work 45 to 50 hours a week. A lot of people are out of reality. Some places you work 50 to 60 hours a week, if is sales. Ck out in Toyota, Honda, etc…If you are hard work, needs the $$$, make over time. In the Pandemic people accommodate and became lazy. We need to get out and socialize. The remote office isn’t healthy.
Exactly 💯 I thought something was wrong with me. I go to the office M-F and my coworkers don’t show up. They do whatever they want 🙄 as long as they keep getting paid. They won’t even come in 2 days a week 😒
I’m afraid you are the one who is out of touch. Tesla employees generally have a lot of career options. A lot of companies allow remote work nowadays. Airbnb, Google, Meta, Robinhood, Twitter, etc. All top notch companies that pay top dollars. These are their options and their reality.
I mean you can be okay with being exploited by your employer if you want but not everyone feels that way. Everyone used to work way more than 40/wk but labor unions said enough was enough and 40hrs was there MAX they were willing to work so as not to be taken advantage of and treated like slaves. Work is essential to human health, but it’s just one part of your life, it shouldn’t be the only thing you do.
Control Freak, dude is a serious Narcissist
Ummm yeah. He’s a corporation why is this so shocking? It’s a business.
I had told Elon on Twitter before he pulled this boner of a policy, to have a good work environment & treat his employees well. Then what does he do? He makes this announcement & fires remote & part-time workers! The total opposite of my advice! It would not surprise me at all, if the rest of his employees leave, even the most loyal of them eventually. I also warned him about the effects of the stress he’s put himself under & how it could lead to not only bad mistakes like this one, but also autism regression disorder like I’ve been experiencing the past few years. I wish him the best, but am starting to see the beginnings of the worst occur.
There is NOTHING wrong with wanting to see his employees. Oh no… minimum! Amazing, heaven forbid you work 40 hours a week. Say it ain’t so, going into the office 40 hours a week is asking too much. What babies we have working these days.
Nobody is arguing against 40 hour work weeks. They’re arguing against having to be forced to work in the office for 40 hours when they can do the same exact job in their home. Why would somebody want to waste gas money during a time of inflation when they can spend less by using home electricity. Work can still be tracked at home to prevent laziness. People are more productive in an environment comfortable to them. Putting them in an office is literally counterproductive. You call them babies, I call them reasonable.
Sounds like you’re just bitter for no reason. I don’t have an office job. I have to be at the facility. That’s totally fine with me. But they don’t have to. They can work from home and have their work tracked by the company. But they’re not allowed to. It makes NO sense.
You and I know whom these babies are. On the flip side if you’re of a certain age you never questioned this standard of working in an office. The newer generation are changing the tides of what we once considered standard. Some of these changes are good and others are an unearned sense of entitlement. Either that or I’ve just gotten older and sometimes change is difficult. Inevitable but still difficult. I’m saving my insanity by learning to keep an open mind.
@laruebridge although I agree that a lot of modern change is the consequence of the newer generations entitlement, I’ve learned that every new generation amounts change within this country based on their feelings, which are largely environmentally created or due to fed propaganda by media and government.
I believe working out of office isn’t a bad thing. It reduces emissions from travel, saves people money (home energy costs on average are less than gas costs of travel), and makes people happier and more productive. The assumption that people want to be lazy is made, but that’s far from the statistical truth.
Although there are other changes created by this generation that I’m absolutely sickened by.
I agree 👍
Remote work is not productive.
Ultimately the undoing of Tesla will be failure to deliver … can they market and sell their vision 100% yes and better than anyone … but they overpromised and now can’t actually deliver … which eventually opens the door to bigger competitors
Most people working from home really don’t do the work
Preach
@Raynette Scoggins I’m talking about manufacturing jobs , of course there are many other jobs you can do from home
I work from home. Have trained hundreds of sellers over the last two years around the world who sell everything from cloud technology to accounting software, they go on to be high producers and most of them work remote. So, you are, well, just wrong.
@Tory Quinton I don’t think he’s wrong. That’s the industry you work in. There are a segment of people that are working from home and they are not as responsive as they would be if they were in the office. I am dealing with that know, and I just had a Service Technician in my office from Quandrient that was complaining about the same thing. -People want you to pay them and at the same time, they want to do what they want to do. Right now it’s working, but it will not last.
@Raynette Scoggins The problems you cite are real, but they existed in the office as well. The main difference is that more than two years of succesful remote working have empowered people to speak up. Those who dont do the work remotely were the same peoplevthat did not do the work in the office.
Manufacturing is a little different, but here too we see the flaws in traditional business models (and Tesla is a traditional model in a shinier package). Overwork, too many hours, too few humanistic outlets in the office coupled with the overuse of automation. People rightly ask why go to the manufacturing floor if you will so easily replace me with a machine or an automated process.
Remote and hybrid is the superior work method. Consider that we are speaking as if work from home is a new trend when in fact most of humanities history has been work at home.
There are companies out there hiring people for remote jobs.
No joke, I know I’ve guy running a start-up who managed to poach the best talent from Apple and Tesla by just promising them WFH
Omg that’s terrible
Everyone should quit.. let him figure out what to do in the office….
He can’t have babies with his employees if he can’t see them in person. How can you pick your next incubator if the women on your payroll are safe in their homes? 😂🤣😂🤣
Best. Comment. Ever.😆😆😆
What like any regular full time job 😳😳😳😳
No, most offices still have people remote. I know because I actively organize people against their landlord and I am on site or actions at most 10 hours a week. If things that literally require door knocking can sustain without my physical presence, they can too. Where all them drones they cracked the whip about replacing us that now all of a sudden silent when the workers get leverage?
@Roybot06 tissues aisle 3
Basically people want to sit in their underwear at home, pretend to work and collect a check.
Yah my work needs to do the same thing! Work starts at 6:30 am some front office personal doesn’t show up till 8-8:30, some (payroll) don’t come in at all? If you have a payroll issue there is no one to talk too!! WTF!
@Bonita Pajarita That’s not the point. People need to get their asses back to work.
@Raynette Scoggins so, if you worked for a corporation whose payroll department was located in another state, you wouldn’t consider them to be “working” because you aren’t face-to-face? That is remote work is, someone who doesn’t work in the same facility as you. I consider it lazy that one cannot pick up a phone or email the same person. It’s just as effective but actually quicker. Besides, I wouldn’t want people to have direct access to payroll, finance departments, etc. stop being “lazy” and a complainer and pick up the ☎️😂😂😂😂
@Larry Beasley Larry I respect your opinion but I’m not having that conversation with you. My comment was for Tim and Tim only. Be a Keyboard Gangster with somebody else. -Continue having a beautiful and blessed day Sir.
@Raynette Scoggins AND WHO’S TIM???? LOL
I will
Work for him 247365.
Working from home only works if one is self employed.
Wrong
For making cars I get it, but the old people rattling their briefcases about working in an office for admin and software jobs are behind the times. They just don’t want to admit their multi million dollar buildings are no longer impressive and useful.
There’s been mixed research about productivity from remote work. It also doesn’t help that a lot of those include surveys which are answered by remote workers themselves which would be highly biased. From personal experience, productivity among teams I’ve interacted with have dropped. It’s not just about doing the job, it’s about doing the same job or responding back within the same time frame
@aperkins07 ehhh your work sucks at engaging wfh teammembers if you believe that. I have just as much interaction as being in the office.
@Rrp54 Q it’s not a belief, it’s an observation and the communication with colleagues confirm it. Chances are, most places suck at employee engagement. I’ve seen similar patterns across teams in multiple companies including global 100. It’s not just one place, it’s the attitude especially when there’s lack of set deliverables that takes up 8 hours of the day. Some managers can say they know how long xyz tasks take and what each person did once they fulfill that, but most don’t track especially daily tracking of whether or not someone was actually working when the employee is at home especially when the team may not always be busy. Regardless, someone on work hours is on the clock and should be expected to react that way unless communicated to supervisor/team of being away
@aperkins07 you sound like one of those managers who was let go because they realized it’s kind of pointless. Also no just no on micro managing Noone likes that and is a great way to scare away good employees. Statistically wfh has increased productivity by about 10%.
Well he’s happy about employees sleeping on floor of factory at svhezwan factory
That’s disgraceful …. all in rhe name of progress whilst the earth is dying …
“Typed on an apple product “
Same thing they needed on plantations! Innovative!
Great people are going to quit in mass. This is a bad turn for tesla
He is the boss QUIT this job or anyone else for that matter if you have a problem obeying your boss who pays you…QUIT.
When you have a job you obey your boss ESPECIALLY the owner of the whole company and your NEXT boss is not going to let you tell them what you do and do not feel like doing either THEY ARE THE BOSS you are the employee.
Employer: quit if don’t want to be treated like a slave no one wants to work these days
Employee: I quit
Employer:
@Ankur Mittal That’s not entirely true. Some employees are using Covid as an excuse to be unreasonble. Should the current work environment change? Yes, it should; however, the employer and the employee can find common ground.
I have had covid and I was so tired for more than a month. It is reasonable for employee to be worried about their safety and health. It is all free market and the employer who choose to be friendly will win in the labour war. People are not your slave to work for you
Sounds good but doesn’t work. Definitely not with the severe labor crisis we have.
Too bad he’s applying this policy to his disabled employees also. Calling them lazy is one thing but defying doctors orders to force them into the office because he sent a tweet about it is another 🙃
That is very concerning and sad to hear. Do you have a proof of source about this?
They accepted the terms of employment when they took the job so I don’t see how that’s forcing them… They could quit and leave…
Elon musk hire me I will work 60hrs at the office
Good. Lazy pricks working in pijamas like they are 13 yos
If they are more efficient then that’s the way to go…
Teslas horrible products clearly shows that Tesla is treating their employees bad.
Yeah, lots of companies have done this, government including. So what is the big deal?
Just you can see someone, it doesn’t make them productive.
Fk that con artist.
Well, Tesla haven’t shipped a good product since…
Well…
…
Yeah….
Only suckers work W2 in-office jobs
This is how Tesla will lose it’s best employees to companies that treat them better.
Entirely false
People who reply against remote working have no understanding of remote working and no awareness of the modern office environment. When you walk into a modern office, you just drove yourself to a location where you will be working remotely. You are not connecting to the thing that drives your business and if you do, your employees wish otherwise and/or you’re a small or possibly a startup where you’ve made remote work impossible. The people who grow see the future and remote is the future. Remote is the way to expand your small business by hiring employees without that pesky word called overhead. We employed 100 people in an office costing nearly 2 million a year and now we are all remote working and on track for a higher bonus next year. Get a clue. Old real estate tycoons are the ones driving this message not the productive workers who can clearly see the benefits.
That’s not true. I am far from old and I agree with the message and so do others.
@Raynette Scoggins you just keep missing the point.
Why because you are white with a beard? No! you are missing the point.
Musk knows remote is the future but he needs to trim the headcount to boost NOI on Teslas P&L statements. He’s using Remote as his reason to boost stock price and he has been selling as of late since he might have his hand forced to complete the Twitter buyout.
Remote def has its place but of course there are jobs where people need to be there. You can’t build things at home. So if it’s digital or software or other things like that? No need to come in. If you are producing a physical product? Kind of have to go to work. There are enough jobs in either type to please everyone.
Elon L
Maybe he doesnt understand economics most cant make it to work let alone work and pay child care gtfoh…Does he wamt america to fall?? Is he with China? Or russia?? or jus hate american workers unless hes gonna sell us some 50 k boxable houses…
I’m sick of Mr 🦑 🦪 (Mollusk)
A dictator
So what? His company his rules
Good you should be in the office working
I can’t velieve the negative comments on this video. It’s his company, he has a right to do whatever. 3 years ago this was normal. You should know that your employes are working and not just at home doing nothing
Preach! The ignorance is real on these comments. People can quit, they don’t have to work there. Someone wants the job.
Things are changing people are getting tired of the old guard and their ways of doing things that aren’t helping improve the end workers life yet putting ever more wealth in the tops pocket.
@Eric Watts LOL you don’t think tesla engineers make a lot of money?
Interesting to see all liberals that are sundelly hating on Elon since he said that he will buy Twitter.
He’s a fame addict! He’s bright, but he’s had numerous failures. Last week he lost the SpaceX contract, because he didn’t provide the internet service he promised. He pro.ised Vegas a 13 seat peoplemover that would zip people quickly up a d down the Strip, but that failed and they using Teslas. He began boring and underground tunnel in L.A., to bypass rush hour along the 405 Fwy, and didn’t complete it. He made millions off the Mafia ‘pump and dump’ con with the DogeCoin, and he made millions. His self-driving Teslas have been a failure and three been a death, accidents, and many tests where a human has had to jump in to prevent an accident. He wanted to escape California, but the people of Austin, TX. are pissed because his arrival there has caused their home and rental prices to skyrocket. He’s a mess.
most bosses are sociopaths.
Remote workers are by far more productive and more satisfied. The remote slackers eventually get found and fired for not meeting deadlines etc…He’s either using this as a way to get rid of employees so Tesla doesn’t need to impose layoffs or he’s simply projecting his own laziness onto his hard working employees.
That’s because whoever working at the office are covering for people like you who are working from home.
So what’s your point, if you don’t like it leave
How dare he demand his employees come to work…..🤣🙈😜
Good, employers should be the boss….lol
This guy has to be the most overrated guy in the modern world. What good has he done? PayPal is overrated, electric cars are overrated and as for his space tech. Utterly useless waste of money. Great con men do humanity the most injustice.
omg, your boss expects you to work 40 hours a week? cry some more. i’m so happy that you’re so entitled. if i don’t work 60 hours a week then i’m not making enough money to support my family.
That’s the real problem. Why do you have to work so hard just to survive?
Brand comes before all Money pleasure and Power. Accountability and Responsibility.
Business 1st before Good Time Charlie’s.
Owe Charlie that Hurts Good.
Qualified Great Dance Moves.
I work 100 a week to a minimum of 72 hours all in the Shop, or Lab my check looks like 40hours weak of normal time 30 max hour over time 10 hours of double time .for 18 years straight even through covid also never stop. Even when I get home I don’t watch tv, I’m always fixing something around my house .Ppl don’t even know..
And you still found time for YouTube!
Everyone just needs to calm down. Stop worrying about who’s working and who’s not working. Soon no one will have to worry about that, because you all will be replaced, by robots. Anything you can do, they can do 1000 times better.🤣🤣🤣
if u don’t want work 40hrs. like usual average adult (pre pandemic) .. then I guess QUIT ur job& hand that Tesla key card back u get to drive frm Co. simple!
This man has e vil written all over his face.
He’s right.
I praise him to gather the courage to put his foot down. I am getting sick and tired of covering for people who work from home.
Just don’t work there. I don’t see why this is a conversation?
I agree
This sounds like the opposite of innovation to me.
That’s the way it should be
I’m glad anyone who refuses let them leave hands on work is for the true visionary
