No radar? Why was that plain allowed to fly directly in the path of a storm?
Let’s simply rename that airline, let’s call it scare ways!
Because it probably was a burst of storm. Sometimes they can’t be detected especially the severity of that one. That’s probably why. Those folks are okay and don’t have to fly again if they are so scared. Weather happens and it’s not always what the radar says..
When you don’t have FAA rules/laws this is what happens lol
Flight maps. Been used for years before radar.
@Juan solo Actually many countries laws say follow our FAA so they do have safety laws.
That would be awesome to fly through that, I would be laughing the whole time.
If the aviation industry advanced at all planes would have dimples like golf balls to increase strength , reduce weight, improve aerodynamics and stabilize flight. Our fastest craft resembles the peregrine falcon. The peregrine falcon is the fastest dive bombing bird. The golf ball has dimples like a peregrine falcon and every other bird that has ever flown.
waiting for you to lead us into the future.
Did you really just compare an airplane that is supposed to fly long distances with humans on board to a golf ball?
@Doodler 2D I can cure every problem that ails society so everyone hates me and wants me dead.
@ZombifiedKilla congratulations with the footballs and fentanyl
Why would they fly a commercial aircraft through heavily convective activity. This is a recipe for disaster, and they’re lucky to be alive.
still a better experience than spirit
Lol everyone seems to hate spirit so much but still decides to book with them. I don’t get it.
@The Fitness Life I don’t know who “everyone” is, but I travel a lot and have never used Spirit and never will as long as I can help it. My wife actually booked a vacay with them years ago. I booked though another airline because I refused to fly Spirit. Then I told my wife to try calling customer service to cancel. All she kept getting was a pager. 😂 Fuq them!
@Rico Taco So you personally haven’t had a bad experience with them then?
@The Fitness Life yes, when we tried to reach customer service and couldn’t for days. After we finally did, they were rude and inept and unhelpful. Get it?
i don’t get the whole trope of people saying that spirit’s planes are falling apart….they have one of the youngest aircraft fleets amount US airlines. their fleet is all airbus a320-family and a320neo-family aircraft mostly under 10 years in age
Gotta shout out to the pilots!! Heck of a job getting those souls thru the storm and landing safely!
Amen
They would have seen that weather on their radar. Why on earth would they choose to fly into it?
More reasons why I hate flying
Wow those pilots are heroes and so skilled to have made it through that.
@Atite Lometen The pilots don’t make that decision.
Only the Captain can make the decision of flying the airplane lol
@Atite Lometen We haven’t gotten the Facts as to why they traveled into this storm, instruments do fail but also give false readings and have cause catastrophic results.
they are not heroes, its just silly to try and penetrate nature. that’s why there is enroute weather info…better safe than sorry
@zzz Yes indeed they are and so far 47 people agree.
No one was injured but everyone was traumatized
That’s an ‘injury’….
@The Communication Coach that’s the point he’s making 🙄
I’m only flying Delta from now on That jet looks like it’s made out of the black Box for real
Lmfao this foreigner always money greedy hungry they can care less about those ppl since they already paid for the tickets
That guy looking for a payday from the airlines. Instead of being thankful, he sees it as an opportunity to milk money. 🤦🏻♂️🤷🏻
the plane should have never flown through a thunderstorm
This might be worth some bucks. Maybe not a lot, but if this guy could ever get in a plane again he should fly a few times for free, for sure.
Hi Jimmy! It’s incredible how good you know me! Yes, a few days ago I was thinking I could never see my kid again, and now I’m just trying to get some bucks… Let me tell you something Jimmy, your comment speaks more about you than me. I hope you and the people you love never have to experience something like this. Have a nice life.
@Gerardo Ampuero aah there you go being dramatic and milking the situation again. I guess You trying to play the traumatized victim eh? Yep i got a few close calls myself, but instead of focusing how tragic it might have been, i was just thankful for still being here. Just be thankful bro or karma will not be so good next time.
@Jimmy Dishkawnt first thing I did after the plane landed was thanking the crew. Then I went to the cockpit, give both the pilots a handshake and thank them. Money is not an issue for me. I make more than enough.
¡Aye caramba!
Seeing video like this as well as possibility of high jacking make my anxiety get worse than ever. I don’t think I can ever ride a plane.
🤯🤯🤯
This airline and crew failed to steer away from the storm. Ridiculous
Well done pilots,, just don’t brag on weather checking skills anymore🙄
Airliners are able to withstand much more abuse in flight than anybody on a normal passenger flight will ever experience. The decisions not to fly through weather is more for passenger comfort and peace of mind.
Wrong.
@The Communication Coach Uh your wrong for saying that lol. Do your research before making a dumb comment.
@Andy1341000 He’s “The communication coach” for crying out loud. Why should he have to do research on anything. A simple one word answer is good enough because it explains everything.
@Andy1341000 NO, “YOU’RE” wrong and obviously so, you can’t even spell correctly WITH spell check!! Now go play in traffic…
Reporter: What did you do?
Passenger: Pray
That’s powerful. Thank God they are still alive.
You realise his praying didn’t have anything to do with the fact that they landed safely?
BUT DID YOU DIE??? Well they definitely had some good pilots. And these people should be thankful they are okay. It’s freaking weather! My goodness. If they would have stayed diverted, trust and believe someone would have had a problem with that too.
I not sure you would appreciate being rolled like a paint can and shaken like a salt shaker then possibly crash ? It’s natural to feel scared when you don’t have control and as we say we are at the mercy of weather.😅
This comment deserves an award
Well done pilots.
Everybody who is negative must have a pilot license lol
I’m glad the folks are safe and the pilots were so skilled, calm, and blessed to get them to a safe landing. 😅
Except they sucked at avoiding the storm in the first place
Of course most won’t admit it but I think there wasn’t any atheists on that flight. The war veterans of WW2 and WW1 all had a saying. When the bombs started falling there was no atheists in fox holes.
That’s why I hate to fly.. I’m good bro
When turbulence worries you on your next flight, just remember these people landed safely.
Welcome to Paraguay
Almighty is great
I’m sure they’ve done hundreds of flights in bad weather. It just got more severe than normal it sounds like. Planes fly in bad weather all the time. And with social media these days, sounds like a rare occurrence.
why I always have a parachute 🪂 in my carry on
Thanks to the pilots’ abilities and to science for making a durable plane.
I would 💩 my self!
But did you die!
You know most likely no one did anything wrong, this is mother nature and she can change in a matter of minutes. The pilots can only go off the reports that are given to them, as is the same for their dispatch. They can get a fresh weather statement and see its okay to fly all while the weather system they are flying through has already changed. Come on people, why do we live in a society where everyone has to be punished for something they had no control over. Stupid, you survived everyone is okay be thankful and move on!!!
Those planes are equipped with advanced weather radars. You never fly through a heavy hail storm. Those are rookie pilots
With what comes with global warming also incurs stronger atmospheric storms. Small scale storms as powerfull is hurricanes. This case passengers saw themselves at the mercy of God, having been flown into the heart of what appears to have been a supercell.
FUN FACT: Airliners can withstand a lot of turbulence and would not be strong enough to flip a plane.
I’ve been in one plane T777 from Japan bound to Brazil 🇧🇷
Was horrible turbulence I thought we all gonna died
What’s with so many problems and near disasters with planes recently???
Goes to show you how resilient and strong planes are!
Really? So that’s why the nose came completely off? Get a clue.
@The Communication Coach Just nose did. The rest of the plane got to the ground.
@Camilo Gomez Duh, I said that. 🙄
So pilot tilts the plane slightly towards the ground and decreases throttle and lets it roar or does he attempt to go above the clouds?
Good job 💯👍
Average spirit flight
Well I want those pilots on all my future flights
Those pilots deserve *everything* and more …
Engineers and mechanics are more heroic then union pigs . Youll remember that soon
Why didn’t the liberal media blame the pilots for forcing this marginalized group of people to go through such a triggering event?
If they hadn’t taken off, you know some customers would complain
Praise God! Thank u to the pilots who did their job well. Glad they’re all safe.
Sometimes is better to pay a bit more and flight with good airlines. Always go American in the air…
It’s gotta be terrible I made shure to land wherever it is
Omg that would be absolutely terrifying
It should have never taken off again, thank God they were all OK. Flying is just too dangerous and problem-filled anymore, it’s not worth it.
Next time avoid thunderstorms
Those pilots are champions!
WTF!!! Why would you ever fly in those conditions?? Reckless!!
Passengers so terrified, many pants were full ,for sure
the plane. the plane.
I’m a pilot, I see bad weather, I ain’t going nowhere, fire me at this point.
How did the pilots not know that they were flying through a thunderstorm. Don’t they have radars for that? It sounds like someone didn’t make the right call that could’ve avoided the situation.
i was on a flight like that once flying from the east to west coast on a night with multiple winter storms across the country. we had to land in Utah due to burning too much fuel fighting the winds….those 2 servings of gin I ordered at the beginning of the flight but didn’t get around to drinking, really came in handy when it started getting dicy
Holy crap!! Like a horror movie!
“Brace for Impact” something that you never want to hear
why did they leave under these conditions. #FAA
I would love to know who was the pilot that God used to save those passengers.
That footage is truly frightening. With all the available technology it baffles me that neither the pilots nor air traffic control foresaw the danger which lied ahead or at least failed to act to keep the passengers safe. A thorough investigation is definitely warranted. In any case, thank goodness for the skill of the pilots and the strength of that plane.
Pilot’s can see that weather on their radar so why on earth would they choose to fly through it?
Awesome who needs coffee
How did the hale not get sucked into the jet engines?
Great job by the pilot
Its part of the new weather. The new giant hail storms.
Seeing lights flashing during rough turbulence really adds to the frightening experience. Also, the plane landed with a cracked windshield! Those were some crazy obstacles. So glad the plane made is safely
As a pilot happy there safe. But common who filed that route for them like they had no to know of hail wind shear etc
