Two major cities in China – Guangzhou and Chongqing – have eased COVID-19 restrictions.
It comes a day after violent protests – as frustration mounts against the government’s strict zero-COVID policy.
Authorities have blamed the unrest on so-called ‘hostile forces’ and have threatened to clamp down on any activities that disrupt social order.

Typical : ordinary people protesting are met with propaganda claiming they are fostered by foreign agents or “hostile forces” in this case. This sad paranoid mentality of the State, seen in many countries (like Iran also right now), ignores the grassroots suffering and reasoning. People are not against sanitary measures : they are against being locked down so tight that their economy is broken and their capacity to take care of their families and themselves is severely hampered!
I agree with China’s zero covid despite hating Xi and the CCP. But, do agree that the way they are going about it where people are literally filling hazmat suits with sweat and providing little resources for those infected is in the wrong.

If those people were paid a few hundred bucks to hold up a piece of paper, they would probably ask if their friends could join. Then it only takes a mobile phone to shoot and upload. That’s how easy it is to make fake news.
