‘Don’t leave home,’ that is the message from government authorities in Mexico’s Culiacán city, the capital of Sinaloa state.
Armed men have attacked the airport and sealed off the city after the arrest of a powerful cartel leader, Ovidio Guzman. He is a son of the imprisoned former Sinaloa drug lord El Chapo.
Flights have been cancelled, schools are shut and at least three people have been killed.

The US government, with all its military power and tons and tons of money, will never be able to stop the Mexican cartels or any other world cartel. The best thing the Mexican government can do is to find a beneficial way to legalize hard drugs. The money generated by drugs is income that the government could use to improve the lives of so many Mexicans, who live in poverty. Mexican politicians are already on the payroll of the cartels and these politicians are enjoying all the perks associated for being an employee of those cartels. The fact is that the US government does not like competition when it comes to drug trafficking because they are the biggest drug traffickers.
