Ukraine and Russia are locked in an information war as well as a deadly struggle on the ground in Soledar, a salt mining town in Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk region, at the end of the 46th week of the war.
The Wagner Group’s mercenaries have been fighting to take Soledar for weeks in an apparent effort to encircle Bakhmut, 10km (four miles) to the south, which has been the focus of Russian offensive operations since September.
The fighting there, and in Bakhmut, has led to some of the bloodiest battles of the war so far.

Remember the beginning of the weapons were only for guerrilla actions, but they still managed to stall and stop their army. Remember how the Azov Regiment defended itself, with only 1-2 battalions of weapons and men, against a 20,000-strong group, it still held out for two whole months. Bakhmut and Soledar have been holding their ground with weapons and people 1 to 5 for half a year…
I completely agree with you, the Ukrainian military has brilliantly demonstrated the effectiveness of the weapons supplied. We need to increase the supply of heavier weapons to improve their defense capabilities.
