At least 23 people have died in hundreds of forest fires in Chile.
Nearly a thousand people have been injured as a blistering heatwave is complicating efforts to control the blazes.
The fires are raging across the central-southern regions of Araucanía, Biobio and Nuble.
The government has extended emergency orders.

283 forest fires, 151 controlled, 71 in combat. The red alert is maintained in the regions of Ñuble, Biobío and La Araucanía, and for the communes of Longaví, Cauquenes, Sagrada Familia, Chanco, Pencahue and Curepto in Maule; Mariquina in Los Ríos; and Palena and San Pablo in the Los Lagos region.
This Sunday night, the Government delivered a new report on the situation of the forest fires that affect the central-south zone of the country, ensuring that the risk situation remains. Manuel Monsalve, explained we have not had any new deaths, therefore, it remains at 24 people.”
There are 21 points with red buttons,(high temperature,wind,low humidity)on Monday there will be 37. On February 7, 33, but on February 8 will be 38 places with red buttons.
The armed and police forces are conducting patrols and checkpoints. The transfer of fuel has been restricted.
This has nothing to do with climate change it’s the Mapuche Indians starting these fires. Local people have had their cars stopped and told to get out of vehicle and then the Mapuche set the car on fire. Over the years their attacks on local farmers and people of European decent has increased. They have committed murder by shooting at farmers houses and killing people. This government is not prepared to help either side so he will hide the truth and call it climate change.
