Turkish President Recip Tayyip Erdogan announced on Saturday that university accommodation will be used to house those affected by the earthquakes.
Students in Istanbul have been leaving their university dorms to make room for survivors.
More than a million people have been made homeless by these quakes.
It is a growing crisis, as authorities in Turkiye and Syria try to find places for them to stay.

I really hate when students have to vacate dorms
Well in this situation it’s not really a choice. Where is the solidarity. Everyone needs to be chipping in and helping the people made homeless.
It’s hard but it’s very hard also that letting those people sleep outside in a cold weather…

Thats exacty what I thought (if they translated his words correctly). How someone can be so self centered and think only about itself on a situation like this…
1. He is arrogant.
2. They were kicked out of their accomodation with 1 day notice. Normal students, not necessarily mega rich kids.
3. The guys who should be held accountable for this tragedy will sleep unbothered in their mansions tonight.
I’d be asking for a refund, it has nothing to do with humility, you pay for a service. Nothing wrong with asking them to leave just give them their money back for substandard education

Politicians and city officials should leave their homes and allow victims to use their homes, until their new homes are built. They should also suspend any pay, until all goals are met, and have those funds be donated to the victims of the quake. If they cannot afford to do this, they can leave their post, as soon as a background investigation is completed for corruption.
Govt guest houses & accommodations should be vacated first to help in this situation

Erdogan built himself a mansion. It has 1100 rooms. It built by taxpayer. Why doesn’t he let people live there? He can use this situation to stop education and make more imams. people should accomondate these students in their homes during this hard time, I am sure many people have extra rooms and even extra apartments in Istanbul; I’ve heard many Turks have a home in Istanbul and in their village at least in Turkish TV series

I think vacating students is the dumbest thing the Turkish govt is doing . I think there are plenty of empty houses all around the entire country for them to house people.

28 students and teachers were killed in hotel rooms, that were there for a volleyball tournament. Might not be the best place.
That would be a blessing to the people that have lost their homes..They also need more of it No rent it’s only fair and must have running water or electric But as far for the government you have one year to build quickly and recover homes starting now with using the funds and donations among nations to repair what’s lost..They will need food too so if we can help them out with whatever that’s necessary as well. Sorry but this pandemic will have to recover and this could take a year or so..
