How do you honestly forget that you have a child? That right there is an immediate red flag you’re unfit as a parent.
Inexcusable! Leaving your kids in the car while you go eat? Disgusting. Some people just should not reproduce.
14 hours?? I’ve read up a lot about hot car deaths for some reason, and I understand that it’s usually not intentional (not saying it’s excused, btw) because of one believing false memories about dropping off ones kid at daycare, but FOURTEEN HOURS? I can’t see how this particular case wasn’t intentional.

this issue has nothing to do with technology or laws anymore, its with the willingness of the parents themselves to actually be proper, good, caring parents. u can implement as much regulation as u want, invent as many apps or special door locks as u want, but it wont do anything if the parents themselves wont change. but maybe there can be something where the parents dont even have to be involved. like the door will automatically open when it detects a certain temperature and a built in fan will turn on. but it could be manipulated by thieves……..oh well.
A parent who actually loves their child could never ever ever make this kind of mistake. These are parents yes but not loving ones and that’s for sure

Never EVER leave a kid in a car. I mean come on? 14 HOURS?! WHILE EATING?! Imagine it was 15 or even 24 HOURS! It’s not a Bottle or any non living thing. It’s May, not June or July.
And that is why modern cars now warn you to check the rear seats when you turn off the car and open the door
This is just living proof that not every human being deserves to be a parent. Having kids should be a privilege, not a right, so that the future generations are raised into good moral respectful human beings by devoting loving caring parents

It is beyond my understand how a parent can “forget” a baby, child in a car. My first baby then the second were constantly on my mind wherever we went by car or on foot. There is no excuse for leaving a child in a car.
I’m not buying this at all. People don’t forget about their babies like this. People forget cell phones, wallets, other items but babies no way. These parents never cared in the first place.
Sure, you see an unattended kid in a hot car and you break the window to save the kid, the first thing the parents will do is sue you for the cost of the window or try to fight you for breaking the window.
I have children, I cannot imagine how you could forget having a child in the car with you.

I one time forgot my son in the car, when he was an infant. My neighbors kids had let themselves in ( pretty normal thing ) and I got distracted. It took me about 5 minutes to realize something was wrong because I wasn’t getting yelled at. I freaked out and cried when I realized it, he was just sitting in the car like nothing was going on. Luckily it was a cool day and the inside of the car was cool as well. But 14 hours? These parents didn’t want or need to be parents, and that child suffered for their poor decisions.

Yet another demonstration of the superior technology in a Tesla vs. these ancient dinosaur vehicles. Teslas have an overheat safety feature that would have prevented this. Of course not being a useless piece of human waste and leaving your baby in the car would have done it also…
conveniently autopilot automatically shuts off seconds before a car crash, so that the blame may not fall on Tesla, but on you. So superior.
@the green one Total BS. But even if that were true, it would not matter. The data would still show autopilot was engaged until seconds before the crash. But even still, autopilot is an ADAS system currently. No different conceptually than the ADAS system in my Mazda with radar cruise control and lane keep assist. Autopilot is more advanced and capable, but it is the same concept.
If it is engaged, and the car tries to do something wrong such as follow the wrong lane lines, etc. It is a simple matter of pulling the wheel manually or braking, etc. to override the system. Same is true on a Tesla. So even if autopilot is engaged and a crash occurs, it is still the driver’s fault.
Some people are either too stupid or just too full of hate to realize this, and use “Autopilot is dangerous” as an excuse to hate on Tesla even though the data clearly shows that accidents occur at a 10x lower rate when autopilot is on vs when it is not being used.

I keep hearing the “ways to not forget your kid in the car” tricks and its just hilarious. Not the story but the ways to not forget your child. Y’all are some terrible parents. I get if you forget like as soon as you close the door…or even when you enter the establishment but a kid is a hard thing to not click in your mind.
