They did pass on their right side. If you look at which way the ship is facing
They where playing chicken
😅😅
Thats what happens when they swap real training for equity training
They were playing chicken
🐥🐔
They did what they had to do
Well smaller one was more left already. No accident no investigation 🤷🏼♀️
Everyone is to busy looking at their phone 🤳
Because it is the best trajectory to avoid a collision.
Is this a click bait?!
WHY I NEED MORE HISTORY
Well your information each never investigation just a file it cost the taxpayers about $625,000
Just a friendly game of chicken to scare the crew on board lol 😂
GILLIGAN ! !
this was the only option turning left
Slow news day huh
Two Captains playing …CHICKEN WITH OUR TAX MONEY.
Investigation? FOR WHAT?
Because of the back effect they have to keep negative pressure so that their ships don’t collide
The ships are fine they were far enough away from each other and the ship in front was already to the left of center why would he turn to the right .if the had turned right they most likely would have hit .
It’s okay to pass port to port or starboard to starboard. They just need to call each other on vhf and steer safely. Only problem here is they did it at very close range. Probably two stubborn duty officers don’t want to make the first move. It’s very common.
It’s pretty sad that you all actually think this needs to be investigated
They were busy discussing pronouns😅
Navy has already stated both vessels were in communication the entire time. End of investigation.
Hard to port is standard internationally. It isn’t the road.
I doubt that it prompted a naval investigation being at they probably got on the radio and said they would meet on the two there’s the one whistle and two whistle and passing the one whistle is port to port which you were saying they didn’t do it just passing on the two whistle which is starboard starboard nobody says you have to pass Port to port it’s up to the captain’s they can agree on a course so now there’s no Naval investigation on that at all that’s bulshit
Obviously if they both turned right it would have been a head on collision as they would have turned into each other. Common sense would dictate in the event of a imminent collision turn in opposite direction of the widest distance of the two vessels making the distance wider and obviously the safest thing to do. Common sense both Captain’s innocent….. good job USN the best in the world! Yes Heroes do exist….
Absolutely unacceptable that something like this would happen. More importantly, any good captain would know that after doing a hard, rudder turn to steer clear that they should then reverse that steer in the opposite direction in order to keep the aft of both ships from potential collision. This is particularly true, if there is a shaft driven propeller. If you would like to know why this is the case, then there are lots of great videos on YouTube explaining why after steering away from an object, you should immediately turn back towards the direction that object was in in the first place, so that you do not damage the propeller. I’m not sure if these ships actually have propellers or not although they probably do but regardless, it’s a good tactic so that the ships aft don’t collide.
Monsen showed intention to right then paused. Harpers Ferry, slow responce, turned left with intent just get out of the way. Prompting the Mosen to visualy to concur to also turning left and away. This is just a point of view from the film. The radio should’ve been first contact.
I bet that bell to brace for impact got everyone up
The big ship was going right then had to turn left
Id they had done the advised they would have bumped on each other..
It’s called playing chicken.
The new lady admiral is in charge of this.
Its about fluid pressure between 2 objects ie the ships in a channel for ships. As well as your lieing about an investigaion. Total communication is needed for this
They weren’t going directly at each other.
Isn’t each ship passing the other on its right?
When the navy decides to play chicken.
Keep right in N. America in a channel that typically is maked…other areas of the world vary …read your charts first.
That’s gunna be a debrief lol
So much water but they make a last moment move👍. Ship came out of nowhere, huh?
Just to clarify, if this video is truthful and there is an investigation, the reason for the investigation is because the ships should never have come so close to colliding with each other. The U.S. Navy is severely adverse to sloppiness. Yes, passing in the right is the norm but the side they chose to pass is not the reason for the investigation. on has nothing It has nothing to do with which side They are investigating in order to evolve and never have such a thing happen again. The Navy learns from everything.
Our WOKE Navy at its finest.
Left of center, turn left
The big ship going to the right but the small ship going to the left turn. That’s why to avoid the collision the big ship going to his left fast. You can see the direction of big ship because going to his right but change it quickly because he see the counterpart going to the same direction.
You sail with traffic on your port side. The side with the pretty red lite😂
Nice AI voice bro
Passing on the right would be ignorant
Both Captains distracted on putting makeup for a drag show. Bidens Diversity Force.
Gotta love that the person filming this got in trouble
They wait until the last second due to displacement of water by the hulls. If they turn early they can flood nearby shores and docks with the water they displace.
Both commands investigated themselves and found no wrongdoing
they were playing chicken😂
Looks like it was filmed underwater .
So it’s turn left then?
And there whining about a Chinese ship giving them issues, I really don’t know what to say ,we don’t have this issue with are sub sailors ,not going to bag the sailors, going to bag the dumbasses doing the training of these young men.
This is stupid
How could they not see each other?
This is only true if your head on. Ideally turn away from the opposing obstacle first.
Same in UK aviation they have to down and bank right but not if the opposing plane is to the right. Centre and left only.
why they wait at the last minute to avoid?
Bro had the whole ocean💀💀
So used to aggression, US navy ships don’t know how to behave.
This video led to the ordered shutdown of this, the San Diego webcam. Too embarrassing for the Navy?!
They did pass on the right. Both starboard sides faced each other. Starboard is the right side of the ship.
If they’re passing port side, which put the passing boats on each of their left sides.
Who were the helmsmen? They know better. Some officers will hear about this big time.
😂😂😂 those who is not a mariner would ask why. 😂😂 its the rules of the road at sea. the big ship already turning to his right. but the small ship not reacting. anyway this situation is an example of very poor seamanship😂😂. why wait for the last minute where you can act an early attemp. to see your action so that the other ship may see your intention.
Disgraceful it’s red to red
They turned left so they would pass each other right side to right side as the video shows. Only the narration and author do not know left from right. Typical of NBC News, tell lies often enough and most people will believe the lie.
I’m bigger than you are situation
There should be no rule on steering to avoid direct collisions. It depends on what the captain of both ships agreed upon! They were the ones in the brink of danger anyway!
Looks like practice.
How could both ships pass on the right?
The military is leaning to the far left these days.
What away to catch attention… what else is going on??
The world is in a collision course and the Right has the answer to avoid a wipeout! Jesus Christ of Nazareth is the only answer!
Caution: Choosing Jesus Christ could cost you your physical life but your eternal destination in Heaven is secure. HALLELUJAH!!!
In this case they were left of each other’s position turning right could have caused a collision, investigation over stupeeeeed navel
Umm there definitely wasn’t any almost head on collision. Can clearly see the video is playing in fast forward
If they would have gone right they would have collided… You can actually see the larger ship to start to steer right but hold off due to the other ship being in the path
Unacceptable!!
TO THE RIGHT❗TO THE RIGHT❗ ENSIGN DANIEL CLIFFORD CAMPBELL USCGA ! FOLLOW THE LAW ! JUST LIKE A CAR’S ON A DIRT ROAD…
Biden in charge of this Navy.
After this video the navy where so embarrassed they asked the camera be removed that recorded the incident.
So the investigation was basically to findout where the camera was and then had them removed
Quite the investigation they have on their hands…
They were playing the chicken game.
Pathetic that an investigation into steering the wrong way is news but the 5 million dollar bribe hunter and joe biden took isnt in the news at all. Probably because the news is the main protector of the racist communists that call themselves democrats.
How can you be that close in the open sea 🤣it was a face off till the last second, probably some drill cause theirs no way that’s actually happening in the sea full of space lol
Its pretty obvious why they went left. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist or a 2 year investigation to figure that out. But hey go waste a few million dollars. Why not
Was never even close
Little ship give way to big ship?
The bigger ship won the chicken game. Congratulations to the officer.
They were both set up to the left of each other.
So That was the only logical course to take? Was a left turn other than that? If they both turned right, they would have crashed into each other.
They wouldnt have made the right side lol😂
The larger ship went to turn rught but when the smaller dhip turned left it had to change and quickly turn left, smaller ship was in wrong if passing on right is advised
Sometimes because of shallow level.. communication is important..
Cruise By
It’s an navy excercise, head on maneuvering excercises✔️
I’m no expert but if they would’ve went right I think they would’ve hit
Too many white sailors and not enough transgenders on board.
I feel like this was just a game of chicken chalked up to be an accident
But did u die? 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
