Senior members of the military have appeared on television, saying they are now in control of the oil-rich, central African country.
They’ve ordered all institutions to be dissolved.
Military leaders also announced the cancellation of Saturday’s election result.
The electoral commission says President Ali Bongo won a third term in office.
He’s said to have got nearly 65 percent of the vote.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with Africans realizing that they need to re-evaluate who they are as a people. They are simply demanding for a recalibration of the power dynamics.
I support the people of Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, Guinea, and Congo. You can fool some people sometime….. but you cannot fool all the people all the time.
The events in those countries that I mentioned above should be an eye opener for all other African leaders. Democracy in Africa is a total failure. The only country with a very commendable, respected, and functional democracy in Africa is RWANDA. Everything works perfectly well in beautiful RWANDA……. thanks to Paul Kigame.
Africans have just simply had enough of corrupt, selfish, and self centered leaders at the helm of affairs. We (Africans) cannot keep trying to move forward….. with leaders who have our vessels in the “reverse” gear. We are fed up with corruption and looting at “presidential levels”.
