The African Union, the United Nations and France are condemning yet another military coup in Africa – this time in the Central African country of Gabon.
President Ali Bongo is under house arrest and the government has been dissolved.
Military coup leaders have appointed General Brice Oligui Nguema as transitional leader.
The deposed president’s family has ruled the oil-rich but impoverished country for 55 years.
There was jubilation across the country but Bongo is asking people to rise up against the coup.

Only the military has power to take down a puppet regime. Civilian protests don’t work, the media just ignores them, and the local regime’s policy force will quell the protests. Only a military junta can knock the French stooge from his perch. Later the can form their new government at their time and choosing.
The US broke away from the British colonial rule through a military “junta”. It was only after that they formed their own government and started having elections (without British meddling).
The west has replaced the bongo family with another Bongo cousin. It’s a continuation, if you asked me, just with better and sweet deals for the colonizer, France.
We are not fools, we know exactly why western media is supporting this Gabon coup and not the Niger coup. Did western media even broadcast the thousand of nigeriens who are on their streets demand the exit of France in Niger, did they call them united people standing up for their country? Why not, why now are they praising the people of Gabon.
We will see the fruits of this coup, but all indication show that France and the west are going to have a good time in Gabon.
