Does anyone think this could simply be a security team for the hospital? There are things there that could be stolen that you need security to defend from it. When you have fights from civilians they end up in the hospital. Last time I was in a hospital, Its like going through an airport. There are armed security guards everywhere, and this is in the USA. With much consideration, I can safely claim this weaponry looks to be security equipment. You have short AK47’s that are almost exclusively used by security or police. What I think is what happened is that once IDF contacted to force evacuate the Hospital, the armed Security drop their equipment and walked out like the rest who could. In regards to medical facilities, it’s not illegal under The Hague and Geneva Conventions for such facilities to have armed guards, and for even medics themselves to be armed, and therefore, for medical facilities to have small arms in them.
In fact, _it’s actually legal and expected_ that medical personnel and any armed escorts available would use their small arms to defend themselves and their patients, if they come under attack.
Even with such arms and armed guards being present in medical facilities, the Hague and Geneva Conventions still mandate that such facilities are to be totally immune from any armed attacks by any side, and that the small arms available to medics and their guards or escorts are not considered sufficient cause, to consider such medical facilities to be military targets.
