Russian cargo planes have begun delivering a controversial missile system in Turkey.
The first shipment of the S-400 air defence system has been flown into a military airfield in the Turkish capital, Ankara.
The launch vehicles can each carry four long-range missiles.
The United States had warned it would cancel an F-35 fighter jet deal if Turkey took delivery of the missiles.

The suspected perpetrators are living in America and American government are refusing to hand them over. The Americans are also actively supporting PKK & Kurdish militias. Yet they call Turkey responsible for all the problems. Erdogan is looking to the future. Its buildings it own Missile system and its own fighter jet but all that is going to take time. S-400 will be good for now.

The US should honestly consider this a massive advantage. They can finally have acess to S-400s, and devise some sort of way to counter them. It would probably cost a few million more in F-35 upgrades to develop changes.

The US is worried that it’ll allow S-400 operators to learn how to defeat the F-35. Hey here’s an idea, maybe let the F-35 operators train against an S-400! Big high-digit SAMs are THE reason stealth is so important. Russia just handed NATO their best weapon, in an area where they’re clearly ahead, and that’s supposed to be a bad thing?
