According to a new report from LendingTree, Tesla (TSLA) vehicles were involved in accidents at a higher rate than any other auto brand over the past year. Drivers of the EV were reportedly in 24 accidents per every 1,000 drivers. Yahoo Finance’s Akiko Fujita and Rachelle Akuffo break down the details.

Yeah, it’s the drivers, not the vehicle 😒
I will admit that as a Tesla (EV) driver I do have a superiority complex against everyone else that’s still ruining the planet with their green-house gas emitting weapons of mass destruction (a.k.a. daily driving vehicle) which may or may not contribute to my tendency to run people off the left lane but many of these people really shouldn’t be on the left lane in the first place. As to the totally unscientific nature of this “report,” that is another topic entirely.
themrmoc. Not much thought going on huh? When Teslas are more affordable and there is a much better infrastructure, then I can see how some may think that way, about driving ICE vehicles at least. At the moment it reveals a very narrow and simple minded person. The right lane comment says a lot.
@@robshell5367 God bless you my friend, I hope you have a great day. Please don’t take youtube comments too seriously.
I would have to say it’s the drivers not the car
In the last year as used Tesla prices have come down, I have seen many teenagers getting Teslas and driving like teenagers drive.
This data point makes a good headline but lacks the other potentially confounding data points needed to draw meaningful conclusions. In fact, this data point by itself only inspires speculation instead of identifying a legitimate causal relationship.
😜 if I could think I write like u 🙂 Nice i agree 👍
Parents and SET limits on speed & performance of Tesla.
It is the nut behind the wheel.
Only crazy or ignorant people support Elon Musk by buying or owning a Tesla.
Headline is misleading. Rate maybe higher but numbers are not.
Also look at the definition of accident.
Another reason why insurance rates are so inordinately high for teslas
I saved Hundreds, by switching to Tesla insurance in 6 seconds.
Yahoo finance – fake news story.
FACTS are Tesla all have Higher than ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ crash safety, and worlds BEST active safety software.
but, Tesla cant fix DUMB drivers.
It was reported earlier this year that “Cambridge Mobile Telematics (CMT), the world’s largest telematics service provider, found that Tesla cars were 50% less likely to have accidents than comparable gas driven cars.” This was an actual study in terms of miles driven rather than just number of drivers. Didn’t get as much notice in the news but probably worth noting. Isn’t lending tree just reporting About people who mention they’ve been in an accident when they apply for insurance? Maybe Tesla drivers are shopping around for insurance more because they cost a lot to fix and insurance rates are high. Not exactly a real scientific study.
Tesla has 5 star rating on all 4 vehicles..
Funny stuff. Just more lying by omission. Eventually this headline will be accurate, because most cars on the road in general will be Teslas.
What crap journalism. No explanation of the “data”. What defines an accident? Fender bender or severe? injuries, who was at fault? Size of data sample? From where?
Only reported because Tesla news gets views, chasing clicks.
