For the first time in more than seven years, a Chinese Foreign Minister is visiting New Zealand.
It’s seen as an important test of trade and diplomatic ties between the nations.
The visit comes against a backdrop of concern about China’s growing influence in the south Pacific.

Respect of different opinions but Australian iron ore is of high quality and lower price compared with long distance imports from Brazil.However, China can’t 100% trust Australia and rely major commodity supply on a country with different ideology, culture and most importantly a hostile approach. Pretty much like Australia won’t trust China.China is actively de-risk with Australian minerals, one of the latest example is the Indonesian nickel mine which significantly crippled Australian counterparts. On Australian side, it is actively expanding relationship with Indian to de-risk with China in terms of exports. Even though China and Australia industry are highly complimentary it’s sad to see the two countries have to decouple due to geopolitical factor and cold war mentality.@@kamsunleong6648

China buys vast amounts of milk power from NZ and also owns and builds the factories which process this and other milk products on nz soil. Very difficult for NZ to stray far from Chinas money at this current point in time
