Afghanistan says Pakistani strikes on its territory have killed at least eight people

Afghanistan bitter winter: Severe cold kills more than 150 people

A wave of freezing temperatures is sweeping across much of Afghanistan. In roughly two weeks, more than 150 people have died. Most were those living in remote rural villages cut off by heavy snowfalls. It has thought to be the coldest winter Afghanistan has experienced in a decade – with temperatures as low as minus 34 degrees Celsius.
