Ukraine army advances: Fighting intensifies near Bakhmut and Zaporizhzhia

Ukrainian forces have launched several attacks on Russian positions – since Saturday’s mutiny. Some of the Russian forces had to leave their positions because of the attempted rebellion by Wagner group – but are starting to return to the front lines. The Ukrainian army is pushing south and east in what appears to be an attempt to take advantage of the instability in Russia. Russia’s defence ministry says its forces have repelled attacks near Bakhmut. Fighting is also ongoing in the Zaporizhzhia region and west of Donetsk.
