Al Jazeera has obtained recordings of one of the world’s most wanted men attempting to negotiate immunity from prosecution. Billionaire financier Jho Low is wanted over the role he played in the multibillion-dollar 1MDB fraud scandal in Malaysia. Interpol has issued a global warrant for his arrest but he is still on the run. Georgia bank robber escapes after hostages freed

Local media in Georgia say an armed man who held dozens of people at a bank in the west of the country has escaped. Police say they freed 43 hostages after a tense standoff that started on Wednesday. The assailant is reportedly armed with a hand grenade. Saudi Arabia overturns death sentences in Jamal Khashoggi killing

Saudi Arabia has reduced the sentences of eight people involved in the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi in Turkey. Last year, five of them were given the death penalty for the killing, but that has been overturned. The court handed 20-year sentences to five people and three others were sentenced to between seven to 10 years, state media reported. The eight convicted were not identified.
