Israel had designated the area of Al-Mawasi in southern Gaza as a so-called “safe zone” earlier in the war. But its forces have attacked displaced people living in tents there, causing dozens of casualties. After narrowly escaping death, a Palestinian mother fled with her surviving daughter to Rafah, further south. She is being treated for burns at Al-Najjar hospital.
