Attention turns to Qatar on Wednesday for another round of Gaza ceasefire talks. They come after Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi met CIA director William Burns, in Cairo. Sisi reaffirmed his position, opposing Israel’s military operations in Gaza. He stressed the importance of a two-state solution, and preventing the conflict from expanding in the region. The head of Hamas political bureau Ismail Haniyah says the group is ready to accept an agreement that guarantees a permanent ceasefire. He says it also wants a full withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, reconstruction, and an exchange deal.
