UN talks on Yemen: Houthi attacks threaten peace efforts

The UN Security Council met on Thursday to discuss the situation in Yemen, particularly the continued attacks on commercial ships in the Red Sea. The UN’s special envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, said the longer Houthi attacks in the Red Sea continue, the more challenging the country’s peace talks will become.  Al Jazeera’s Gabriel Elizondo reports. Red Sea attacks force rerouting of vessels, disrupting supply chains

Attacks by Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthi militants on ships in the Red Sea are disrupting maritime trade and prompting U.S. efforts to build a coalition to deal with the threat, as freight firms reroute around the Cape of Good Hope to avoid the Suez Canal.
