Haiti gang leader ‘Barbacue’ threatens new violence

A former police officer turned notorious gang leader is asking his supporters to join mass protests in Haiti. Jimmy Cherizier, also known as “Barbecue”, launched a self-styled revolution against elites before President Moise’s assassination, but human rights groups argued that he was targeting the opposition. Now, he has called his supporters into the streets and has threatened to use violence.
