‘Victory for humanity’: Doctor lauds WHO vote on Gaza action

Earlier we reported the World Health Organization executive board unanimously voted in favour of a resolution calling for “immediate and unimpeded” healthcare aid for Gaza. It was only the seventh time in the UN body’s 75-year history that such a vote took place. “It is an important moment for WHO – an organisation focusing on international public health. Israeli military tells Palestinians in Gaza to move to ‘humanitarian zone’ in al-Mawasi in the south

The number of Palestinians killed in Israeli attacks has risen to 17,700 since the war began on October the 7th. For those who’ve managed to survive — the so-called safe areas can be extremely dangerous. Israel says what it calls ‘safe zones’ will be spared the bombing and fighting that’s devastated much of the rest of the territory. More than 1.8 million people in Gaza have been forced from their homes. And there are fewer and fewer designated ‘safe’ areas left to flee to.
