Saudi Arabia attacks: Yemen’s Houthi rebels target oil facilities

The Saudi coalition has launched air strikes in Sanaa and Hodeidah in retaliation against attacks on its oil facilities. Yemen’s Houthi rebels say they hit several areas inside the Kingdom on Friday. One was near the Formula One circuit in Jeddah, where the Saudi Arabia Grand Prix will be held on Sunday. Saudi Aramco’s Jeddah oil depot hit by Houthi attack

Yemen’s Houthi rebels have launched a series of attacks on targets in Saudi Arabia. No injuries have been reported but oil storage facilities have been damaged in a barrage of drones and at least one ballistic missile. The attacks come just days after the US sent patriot missile interceptors to Saudi following urgent requests from the kingdom. ‘Tragic accident’: Moroccan boy stuck in well dies before rescue

Syria prison attack kills more than 100, clashes ongoing

At least 120 people have been killed in ongoing battles between US-backed, Kurdish-led forces and ISIL (ISIS) fighters after an attack on a Syrian prison. The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said “at least 77 IS members and 39 Kurdish fighters, including internal security forces, prison guards and counter-terrorism forces have been killed” in the attack that started on Thursday. ISIL claimed responsibility for the prison break on its Amaq media mouthpiece on Friday. Syria: Deadly fighting rages on between ISIL, Kurdish forces

Fighting raged for a third day on Saturday between ISIL (ISIS) and Kurdish forces in Syria after attackers stormed a prison housing members of the armed group in violence that has killed more than 70 people so far. The assault on the Ghwayran prison in the northern city of Hasakeh is one of ISIL’s most significant since its “caliphate” was declared defeated in Syria nearly three years ago.
