Afghanistan says Pakistani strikes on its territory have killed at least eight people

At least eight women and children have been killed in air strikes in two Afghan provinces along the border with Pakistan. Taliban officials blame Pakistan’s air forces for carrying out the attacks. Pakistan temporarily suspends mobile services nationwide for general elections

Pakistan has temporarily suspended mobile services across the country as polls open for the general elections. The Interior Ministry says this is to maintain law and order amid security concerns. Islamic State claimed responsibility for a bombing in the south western province of Balochistan, which killed at least 28 people on Wednesday. Pakistan launched strikes inside Iran, allegedly targeting fighters’ positions

Pakistan’s foreign ministry says its air force has hit targets in Iran’s province of Sistan and Baluchistan. Iranian state media is reporting that seven people have been killed. Iran carried out an attack on Tuesday, which killed two children in Pakistan’s Baluchistan province. Tehran says it was targeting an armed group fighting for the rights of the Sunni minority inside Iran.
