UN chief calls for ceasefire in Sudan: Guterres says time is of the essence

The UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres is calling for a pause in fighting in Sudan during Ramadan. The conflict has killed more than 14 thousand people, and more than 8 million have fled their homes. Diplomats at the Security Council are hoping to vote on a resolution to pause the fighting as early as Friday. Al Jazeera’s Kristen Saloomey reports.
