i noticed a guard rail where the auto was retrieved. Did no one suspect at some time a car may have gone into the water there ?

Why was the river not searched 20 years ago with any equipment?
This type of sonar was not available back then and finding a vehicle visually while diving without knowing exactly where to look is very, very difficult.
Why did it take 20yrs and what happened to them?

New cases…with fresher evidence and witnesses…will push older cases aside. Not all cities can afford a cold case unit so they sit on the shelf.

Seen videos like this before where divers have be chance found cars with anyone inside and helpd to close cases and give closure to families anytime. i guess they dont expect but guess families give them alot thanx for helping give closure and more evidence to any case they try resolve anytime. can only guess divers do random checks of streams and rivers any with new tech to find cars by chance to call it in and get it checkd anytime.

I can’t help to think of how many other ppl are passed away like this. Underwater, waiting to be found too. 🙏 Yes I am happy to see you found them too man. That must of been intense.
Now see this is real news but yet nobody talks about it
Many police forces are under funded, dive training and certification programs are expensive, as are sonar, boats, insurance, dive tanks, regulators, wet suits for cold conditions and everything required to search properly. 20 years ago sonar wasnt as good as it is now. Every experienced diver voluntarily searching for the missing should get an award this is hard work, that causes emotional pain for every person found, all while giving the family of the missing answers to questions that may take hours to tens of years to get. Thank you and everyone who volunteers to go looking in our waterways for our missing.

With all the funding that Police Departments get.. why is it up to a Youtuber to find this? What actually is being done by Police Departments when they say they “search” certain bodies of water and cant find what a YouTuber can find? Doing it independently, without the resources allocated to these departments. It is honestly disheartening and upsetting to know that my family would not get closure and the car could be sitting right under their noses.. 20 years…

are just a few in this movement of sonar/dive teams of bodies of water in cold cases where there aren’t answers. Started out as environmental clean-up of waterways, then removing a old car to find remains inside, solving a missing person case. To date at least 30 cases have been solved, giving answers to families to where their loved one is.
The families have to grieve all over again. Condolences
