EU pays Russia 109 million every day for destroying Ukraine. That is known as “The Great Hypocrisy” but at the same time reveals the bases for only really working sanction. Cut Nord Stream 1. This fact is quieted out very effectively and maybe all the empty but loud talk about sanctions in EU parliament is aiming to distract general population off the fact who is funding the “enemy” and how much. When many German car manufacturers are in halt due lack of parts from Ukraine as well EU could stop Nord Stream 1 temporarily to create a bargin chip. Nord Stream 1 delivers 60 billion cubic meters methane per year. (60 000 000 000) That is 160 000 000 cubic meters per day.(160 million). Lets first calculate the price of one cubic meter of natural gas: Energy content of one cubic meter is 10.55 kWh. Price of one kwh of methane was 0.0647€ for German household 2021. So price of one cubic meter would be 10.55*0.0647 = 0,68€ . Now we can get the daily estimate of magnitude of how much EU Nord Stream 1 is funding Russian war machine in Ukraine per day: 0,68€ * 160 million = 109 213 600€ every day. That is 37 billion euros in a year. It is 62% of Russian military budget.
Let’s additionally put this in other type of perspective: Germany population is about 85 million.
That turns out to be 109 000 000/85 000 000 = 1.28€ per citizen per day.
How on earth EU leaders think that rich country like Germany cannot afford that?

It’s kind of irresponsible to ignore the fact that each ETF launch and the Russian invasion on Ukraine so far has caused a major dump at the peaks of cryptos, stocks and global economy. I will say we all should find a way to to grow our portfolio as the market is bearish now . I have played safe by putting my assets into active trades, so I don’t feel the price if the dump continues. Meanwhile, Russia has promised to prop up the equity market with up to $10 billion when it reopens.
