In this quick video we cover the topic of EV/EBITDA. Although this may not be an exciting video, it is important to understand financial metrics such as EV/EBITDA. The EV in the numerator stands for Enterprise Value which is simply the total value of the company you are evaluating. EBITDA is short for Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization. You should be able to find all of these numbers within the company’s most recent financial statements.

So with profitable companies a lower EV/EBITDA is healthier. But how do you assess companies with negative earnings? What does an EV/EBITDA of like -150 mean?
EV/EBITDA can be found under statistics tab on yahoo finance. It is available for most companies. Perhaps it wasn’t 3 years ago at the time of this video
