If anybody thinks this inflation on food, drink, cars, homes, appliances, furniture, etc… Is just temporary, they are delusional and in denial. You haven’t seen nothing yet. Things are going way higher for at least the next 3 years if we are lucky. Wake up people, our own gubmint has failed us all on purpose. The American dream is just that, a dream, because you have to be asleep to believe it! There’s a big rich elite club in america, and the 95% of us aren’t in it. Hyperinflation on it’s way like it or not. If war comes, everything will shoot to the moon. Good luck.
Everyone needs to start protesting!
All this chatting on social media won’t do anything.
Boycott. Use your dollars they are so hungry for.
Again missing the issue here. It’s the convenience. Who wants to come home and make dinner. Breakfast…lunch. We want to do as little as possible to take care of ourselves. An we’re willing to pay the price.
Lol you wanted a trade war… you got one. Enjoy 😉
I needed 1 dumb lime. It was 1.30 per lime ! I couldn’t justify it so I used vinegar. Only eat out twice a month now, each time is now maybe 70.00 or more per visit for 2, nothing fancy. 🙁 might have to go just once now.
Stop eating out. If you want that “no work” meal, buy paper plates(Dollar Tree) and a frozen entree from Trader Joe’s.
Next time don’t pay for the one lime. Go to the juice section and buy reconstituted. At my Walmart 4.5 oz is .88. That is equal to about…12(?) limes. Just a thought. We all need to help each other.
@PinkCrayon Good idea if someone isn’t asthmatic. The chemical preservatives in bottled lime trigger my asthma. Another option besides vinegar is citric acid. A powder, shelf stable and found cheaply at Indian grocery stores. In the middle East it is used in hummus, in commercial sweetened iced teas it is used in place of lemon. Literally just a few grains is all that’s needed. Mexican grocers often have cheaper lime prices. I buy, squeeze juice and freeze the juice I don’t need into an ice cube tray
@Happy Cook I had no idea that preservatives in juice could trigger asthma. Thank you for telling me.
@PinkCrayon I lived overseas where stuff was fresh. My asthma nearly went away. Then on holiday to USA it got so bad I had to go see a doctor! He told me when they removed transfats they put in preservative chemicals and some asthmatics are sensitive. Potassium sorbate, BHT and sulfites are very triggering for me as are natamycin (found in many sliced or shredded cheeses to stop mold but I am allergic to penicillin) . These show up in bread, bakery items, cereal packaging (BHT). If I avoid them I am almost asthma free. Chemical food dyes trigger me too. If I avoid triggers it is almost like being a normal breather.
Thanks to biden! Good job!
Because of supply & demand…tye CEO not sending all that is needed so they can price gauge
Yay one stop diabetes type2 slop shops will have to shut down. Boo hoo no more Big Macs.😰😓😓😓😱😱😱😱
The poor middle class scared to death. Oh yeah pesticides taste good on your gmo cornflakes. Adds that extra zing of lazieness that most Americans are. Don’t worry I’m sure you are alls uncle Joe or your Uncle DJ Trump will let you eat their leftovers and crumbs that fall to the floor.
Just wait til the Freedom Convoy hits the US…
Sad times ahead😖

I go to pricerite and get good food at a very decent price. People WANT to go to Whole Foods and Wegmans due to the status, smell, social meets etc.
Will grocery stores suffer more theft?
In blue cities it’s 100% yes.
Of course
Joe Biden’s America. Our bed’s are made, now we have to sleep in them
Inflation is at a 40 year high in Japan, The UK is having 30 year high inflation, and Turkey is reporting an eye-popping 38% annual inflation (some say more). Is Biden to blame for these countries, too? Get a grip. This is a world wide problem right now due to the continued sickness, shut downs, absenteeism, etc., due to the pandemic.
Print more money!!!
I picked up a double pack of Bounty paper towels and immediately noticed when I opened it that the sheets are much thinner. My local grocer had a huge selection of meat about to expire that was marked down. Prices were still high. I suspect people just decided to pass on by. More than likely all of it will end up in the dumpster and the store will just write it off as a loss. This is insane!!
The stores in my town Kroger Walmart Schnucks value check donate the markdown meat that doesn’t sell to local food pantries they don’t throw it away
Did you pick up any of the meat?
@Cheryl T. ,
I picked up four packages of the Laura’s ground beef 93% lean 1lb packages for 99 cents I have plenty in my freezer so I picked it up for my friend. I’ve gotten boneless pork chops, 10 oz rib eyes $3.99 ,carando abruzzese Italian meatballs individual 16 count $.99 .chicken, home chef meatloaf entree enough for two meals $1.27. I’ve seen the packages of Laura’s ground beef for $3.99 markdown I won’t buy it when it’s that high. I’ve heard from other people that say their Kroger doesn’t mark meat down this low but I’m thankful that mine does here in Central Illinois.
@Debbie Frampton 👍
The good news is, some grocery stores like Trader Joe’s donate food that’s close to its expiration date. I work there and we freeze meat that’s about to expire so a local church or food pantry can come by to pick it up. We also donate produce, eggs, frozen meals, pasta— all kinds of stuff
I know it would be insane to manufacture the needed goods here in the USA and pay workers a livable wage.
@Tea and Muffins That’s a copout and don’t believe that, these companies make plenty of revenue. It’s called greed for money is the root of all sorts of evil.
Wages are fine. People don’t want to work. But, prices should be half of what they are now.
@Michael Mullin SMH, wages are not fine. Wages are not in line with the cost of loving. Yah know, economics and rouge capitalism.
@Christopher Stuart I think there is another way.
Flat tax. Let them pay their fair share with no loop wholes.
Exactly!
prices going to rocket with Russia and Ukraine war
People had better start growing their own food. Can y’all imagine how high the cost of living will be this time next year?
Been thinking about that
I’m going to try growing microgreens and then freeze dry them. They grow quite quickly and have lots of nutrients. I’ve been buying a variety of seeds when they are in stock and on sale. Will also try growing mushrooms. Both can be done indoors with minimal space needed.
Yeah, it’s been coming for a while. At Christmas, I gave my adult kids advanced survival kits I assembled myself. They cost me $600 each but have almost everything one needs for a multi-week emergency. It’s like the old joke about outrunning a bear. I don’t have to outrun the bear to survive, I just have to outrun you. Sad but seemingly true.
Following….
Day to day essential is getting expensive
Well, Powell is a complete Id#@t, my God, and they put him back in. Unbelievable!!
Its been like that ( revved up) since 2020. This is due to supply abs demand as well as price gouging from major companies
pretty scary for people in general, given pre-existing financial instability influenced by the pandemic
No worries lol.
What ! She said food went up within the last year naw food went up dollars And some 40 And 50 cents within the last few weeks not year. Food prices shot up in last few weeks
Exactly 💯
Yea..
We are being pimped! but the powers that be should know a hungry angry armed population! is not a good thing.
Shut the flapping door
What’s wrong with price controls??
Let me remind everyone that the world’s richest people fortune got exponientially larger during the pandemic.
By design.
What a dumb question at 1:22 , meal at home $3/per vs. meal at restaurant $14/per
Inflation seems to be more corporate profit goal driven than purely interest rate or demand these days. Time will tell by end of the year should rates go up as promised if inflation really will taper
Pure Greed!👿
A lot of this is corporate greed.
Milton Friedman who is a nobel prize winning said back in the 70s that the readon for inflation is printing too much money and he predicted that the government would blame it on coorporate greed.
Thank a Democrat for your $10 gallon of milk !
is this usa? because everything is sooooo cheap in the grocery stores there try canada
remain calm, our elected officials said that they have a plan
🤣🤣🤣🤣
😜
Plan to F us more, LOL!
WHY DO THEY LIE!!!!! EVERYTHING HAS DOUBLED IN SOME CASES TRIPLED. HOW IS THAT 7%???????
It sounds good, only 7 percent. Yeah right, we all know it’s more.
This might finally pop the bubble and we might finally start to get change. I thought housing might do it but it seems it wasn’t enough. Usually rising food prices leads to change. We got to pop this huge bubble or we will move to Techno-Feudalism. Corporate greed is funneling this and the printed money is a turbo boost to it. You can always count on corporate greed to be consistent, maybe this time it might pop it.
@Nikki Pascoe We can boycott these price gougers for sure. We just gotta know our options and share that information with the people in our community. If we start forming coops we can get ahead of this thing. I’m working with several people in my group, to decrease demand for overpriced grocery items.
@strayedarticle can I join?
I was actually hoping that two years of the pandemic would show those in power how desperately free universal healthcare is needed in the US…It wasn’t even considered by those in power or mentioned on mainstream news…After all what do they care when they have the resources to receive the best health care possible for themselves and their families!
@Cheryl T. We’re royally fucked
Lol we’ll see
And it just keeps rising. I about fainted at Aldi’s the other day. Aldi’s. Seriously. It’s bad folks. Time to start growing your own and bartering. Betcha anything you’ll be healthier as well as wealthier!
I see it coming as well, those truckers protesting seems it that will also be a reason for spikes in food because trucks bring the food in so it’s coming. This war stuff too. Look in history it be war when inflation hits or collapss
Hopefully people in America will start to appreciate food more.
I sure hope so
@Johnny wallace The amount of milk & produce we wasted during the pandemic was a crime on humanity honestly. All the people that they could have fed instead of dumping milk & destroying produce is just unfathomable. All because no one wanted to buy it
Stop eating
The solution is to go to Doctor Snip and don’t have kids, in a world that already has 7.9 Billion Humans and increasing at 1 Billion every 12 years. That is also the solution to Climate Change and Pollution and Energy and Hunger and and and. Can you did it ???
Get rid Biden & Co NOW! They are destroying what’s left of the middle class!
It’s too late, dude. Once hyperinflation starts, that’s it. Not to mention during a pandemic, & the start of another WW. We’re going to be broken down because we still haven’t recovered from the 2008 recession anyway, & honestly things are just out of control with prices. Like, woe. I’ve never seen it this bad, but hey. It was a long time coming!
How about we once and for all cut our ties with the CCP!!!!
Sounds like a wonderful idea, since they’ve taken our spot as a world power, but we got to kick a lot of lobbied & corrupt cronies out of Office first
It means alot of people will die without. I’ve always been poor and have always had to scrap by as is.beans and potatoes.Alor of people are going to have to learn to lower there standards of living. I see alot of people that have been used to eating alot of the processed foods eating less of it
It’s going to be worse than that. Most of the country is literally going to go broke
Last night, my family of 7 had homemade chicken noodle vegetables soup and homemade bread. Total cost was $13. And we have enough leftovers for lunches the next day. That’s the cost of ONE fast food meal for 2 people. People are going to have to start learning to cook again, and making things from foods that are still affordable
This, and also stopping buying so much processed food. No more pre-packed snacks, cookies, cakes…. Stay strong, in Germany I also see prices rising, but food is still quite affordable.
I don’t think you can get two fast food meals for $13. Yesterday I was hungry and tired and needed something quick I pulled out a pack of plain noodles sauteed butter onions and garlic from my garden and a couple packs of flavoring I got from an Asian store then tossed the noodles added mushrooms. The cost to speed six of us was $5.00. It was awesome ten minute meal.
@The Jenny Channel People don’t really need them big meals that are expensive, you can get 2 burgers for $3-$4 like i do and it fills me up. People just WANT more but don’t really need it.
🐂💩
Years ago I mostly eliminated the use of paper towels and napkins. I purchased white painters “rags” at Home Depot and yellow microfiber ones at Costco and use them for 99% of my cleaning. I purchased cloth napkins on sale a long time ago and I still have them and use them. This saved us from any paper panic during the pandemic. You can find them at 2nd hand stores now. We use paper towels sparingly, one set of them from Costco will last us months. I also cook from scratch. We use healthier ingredients including oils. We simply don’t buy any kind of pop or canned drinks. We seldom buy alcohol. I also keep a garden most years and will do one this year. I grow everything from seed. I pray this gets better for everyone soon.
Keep printing more cash Brandon!!
That’s what happens when more than 25% of your money was printed in one year
Plus rapidly changing health policies in an already potentially toxic work environment with unreasonable wages proportional to ballooned inflation.
@Johnny wallace Yeah, I’m surprised anyone is working rn, honestly. They know they can’t even afford to pay the bills anymore, so what’s the point?
People don’t need unhealthy foods in the first place, y’all are doing everyone a favor, really. The suburbs and anyone with a little bit of land will plant fruit trees and start a garden, and be otherwise creative in ways the rich can’t imagine. We, the Slaves, are NOT responsible for your stocks. I have been rebelling since 2010. My garden and orchard is flourishing and I donate the excess of my nutritious vegetables and fruits and nuts anywhere I can. Staying away from big corporations is my #1 priority! The last time I bought anything made by Heinz was 27 years ago… Starbucks can go F itself since last year, when a cup of coffee jumped to $6,- and it’s of inconsistent flavor and never 20oz. as ordered (ripp-off under all that foam!) The last time any McDonalds saw my face was in 2017.
what happens when an entitled society depending upon slave labor
Exactly what is happening before our very eyes
Expect a lot more shop lifting
This makes me happy I don’t have kids. But I am now supporting me and my bf who has a disability. It’s becoming very difficult
Good for you
I GUESS WE WILL HAVE TO STARVE US OLDER PEOPLE FOR WE NOT GETING A STIMULUS CHECK LIKE THEY PROMISED US THIS YEAR ITS A SHAME WE WERE LIED TO…..
I’ve barely noticed.
People dont care if food prices rise 7% ever year?
Let’s go Brandon ….you are a criminal …. American children are starving 📢
Wages going from 10/hr to 15/hr in addition to more than a year of the government handing out “free money”, I mean seriously, how did you think it was going to go? Everyone who knows anything about economics knew it would result in high inflation, or as my economics professor once phrased it: “It’s like pissing your pants to keep warm.”
Wages were stagnant for a long time, and never caught up while the price of everything has skyrocketed. It’s not because some people are making $2/hr more now
Donald Trump
Biden’s Build Back Broke program is working. People are going broke. Think next time you go to the voting poll to cast your ballot.
A manager at a store told me they are not having problems getting supplies. Thier spouse works at a Wal Mart distribution center and they are full of supplies so why the supply issues? I think we are being lied to. We need more transparency and truth.
I know stores who have supplies but can’t get help putting supplies on the shelves.
EAT VEGGIES, FRUITS & NUTS ONLY. NO UNNECESSARY PROCESSEED-CARCINOGENS FOR ME. PROBLEM SOLVED & YOU WILL BE MUCH HEALTHIER.
Drum roll…… Businesses and their greed is the cause of all this. How do you not understand if you jack prices and rent up and where people don’t make as much to be able to afford it,you’re hurting others and yourself and you’ll all go out of business as well. If people can’t afford homes, rent or products then nothing survives.🤔🤔🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
It’s crazy and sad
YEP it is hyperinflation for us, remember the 70`s greatest decade in my life anyways. the only saving grace is that China’s evergrand property financial fiscal is way worse and has stopped them as well, India needs to swoop in and become a more stronger eco-power.
Where do you get a 7% increase overall? At my grocery store, a can of my coffee is up 30%! Coffee-Mate up 25% from a year ago. Everything is up, some things like Ritz Crakers haven’t been available in different sizes for months. An 18KG bag of rice, up 10%. A 7% increase would be a gift compared to what people are actually paying.
Don’t believe the numbers. They’re all false & are much higher than they’re advertising on the media. This country is going to see inflation like it has never seen before! People are going to suffer, & this country is going to dip itself a new one! The middle-class will be gone, & it will finally be the way the lobbyist wants it to be. The poor serving the rich! Modern day slavery is happening before your very eyes!
Look at the cereal boxes, much smaller and more narrow. Us poor people are the ones suffering. Rich will have no problems. Politicians think the poor are trash and could care less.
How much higher can they go?
Well, if Uber & Lyft are now asking for $30-$45 for a 10 min rides, then I guess the sky is the limit, right?
Just eat less! %70 of Americans are overweight/obese anyways. According to the AHA, we should be consuming 1500 calories a day. But the average American consumes 3000 calories a day. So maybe this is good for Americans phyiscal health as they will lose wieght. Its called the INFLATION DIET.
Brandon motivated me to start fasting as a lifestyle choice. 😆
Elections have consequences. Now all you Biden voters can pay more and watch him destroy the country more every day. Only one year in with 3 to go, he is just getting started. What a clown show we have in Washington.
Yes the cost of gas is going to kill everyone all so we can cut out oil consumption
This world sucks and is more evil and greedy everyday !!! I see why people
Kill themselves !!
Oligopolistic collusion in grocery sector. It’s been going on for years, nothing new.
A lot of people thought all the government spending and free giveaways were great. They didn’t understand that it would cost them dearly for many years to come. Unfortunately inflation is not going to go away. You will have to earn more or have less.
I’ve been living on mostly beans, rice, ramen, pasta, and oatmeal. I guess I’ll have to keep doing that. Everything else has gotten way too expensive. I rarely buy fruit and veggies much anymore, unless they are frozen. It saves money.
…GREED! also…
So glad I don’t have kids…
Good thing I dont eat much….
Thank God for the dollar stores! But, they went up a little.
They went up a lot! $1 to $1.25 is a lot
This was predicted in the Bible…
💯💯💯💯💯
I slaughter my own meat. THANK YOU Jesus for the insight. There will always be meat in my home.
Good for you
Americans can’t afford groceries anyway because they can’t afford their rent hikes.
Americans will be forced to finally lose weight.
Evil Swamp Creatures 😈 must be VOTED OUT!
Buy and cook at home
I’m down to one main meal a day by design and barely drive as I work from home , it’s easy, people in America are blobs , who’s former dollars will be pesos shortly ,,,time to get fit or sleep in the street
Grow your own food! Start planting people
This is just crazy….we are being forced into a depression in the middle of opioid, pandemic, and fuel shortage
America should have listened to Farrakhan. Now she is heading to hell. America’s doom was set for her since her inception. America now has to pay for her evils done to the darker people and even her own poor people of the earth. God is now judging.
3-5k more a year….
Wow so its like the same amount as the stimulus??
Venison taste good grilled with onions and peppers!!!
Just got back from getting gas and groceries… 🤬#*$&?
Biden’s build back better! 🤔🙄🤡✌️
I wonder how high productivity is going to go up again while people suffer?
Biden is saying do you like me now!
Whats going to happen is everyone is going to go on a diet to lose weight.. Simply because they cannot afford to eat.
They voted for Biden…they richly deserve what they are getting
I cut my gym membership from 2 gyms to just 1, I refinanced my car and dropped it $150 dollars a month! I still ride my bike anytime I can just to save gas and actually enjoy cardio benefits now. I paid off all my credit cards…no bank is taking my money. I actually invested in some bitcoin mining companies (BITF) because prices are so cheap right now and will buy more if it drops! Remember, health is wealth! Take care of yourself…physically, mentally, and spiritually! If anything I’m saving more now just by tweaking my lifestyle. Help others whenever you can…cutting that elderly lady’s lawn for free…and she’ll cook you a nice meal in return. Carpool if you can…split the cost. Why buy trash bags…I use my grocery bags as trash bags. There are plenty of things you can do…quit your whining!
Easy solution to all of this. Just stop eating! And let’s get rid of our houses and cars while we’re at it!
Free Hogs in East Texas!. If you have a rifle! You can shoot as many
As you want!. Pork chops! Roast!
Bacon! Ham! Mmmmm!.
Stop going to Grocery stores and start a Farm! It’s Cheaper!.
Food going up looks like we all going on a diet raising the prices of food to fight obesity GENIUS
Whoever keeping Arizona tea at 99 cents need to run our economy
Price gauging? A lot of cookies and crackers are made in Mexico? I spend 20% on gas a day.
