I wonder if the risen prices could now make some renewable methods more attractive. Much energy is at the end emitted as waste, so I guess warm air. Perhaps the energy still contained in it could today profitably be extracted with heat pumps ?

The Russian energy, food, and fertilizer exports cannot be replaced overnight but Russia can turn off its exports overnight. Russia is close to self sufficient on basic needs such as food and energy. I suggest the West negotiate a peace deal with Russia before further escalation.

The 15 billion cbm US LNG for Europe touted by the female speaker is about 10% of 155 billion cbm Russian gas delivered to Europe in 2021.
America government have no clue how the real world order worked be bullying small country for years now try Russia and they created a mess. America just show the world how incompetence they real is.
There are not enough LNG in the rest of the world that can replace Russian gas overnight. The EU does not even have the LNG terminals to process the LNG in the EU, even if all we did manage to ship all the LNG across an ocean. That’s why it’s way cheaper to get it from a tap, from Russia.

Maybe not exactly overnight but I have no need of oil, plus I am helping the environment and contributing toward world stability. CNBC should be interviewing home solar companies about ramping up their production!
