Sri Lankan buddhist oligarchies, filled the judiciary, media, security apparatus and very important ministries, departments and commissions. And they sustained this through a media campaign. They keep ordinary people dependent on individual oligarchs for their economic survival. And no one left to question them, because the people are kept divided on religion and ethnicity.
SriLanka did not want interference by IMF which may work against the buddhist oligarchs. Instead it went to China, which gave money without collateral, but strict conditions to protect their money. Now they are blaming China, though China only accounts for 10% of the debt. The corrupt politicians tried to wriggle out by printing money. That is why there is inflation. Its the most militarised region, with the army tuned to killing its own non Buddhist citizens, with weapons and training from mossad.
This is exactly what is happening in India also. Mismanaging the economy by the oligarchs is done DELIBERATELY to keep the poor even more poorer and even more dependent on the oligarchs. Oligarchs like the brahmin, bania, parsis and jains in India have the same potential to lead India along the Sri Lanka route. The massive lakhs of crores in dollars taken as loans, for example to build useless metro trainsin all cities, by corrupt Indian politicians will soon take a similar toll on India also
