India also has less than 1 % of it’s dependance on Russian Oil and they are collaborating with the developed world for development of alternative solutions to reach energy independence – like increasing the mixture of Ethanol with regular fuel (thereby bringing down pure oil consumption) and investing in technologies like Hydrogen fuel for it’s transport and energy sectors. The entire West and the East know this and thus U.S has also come in support of India. To reduce dependance on foreign countries in the defense market, DRDO in India has begun full fledged R&D along with collaboration with close partners to develop Fighter Jets, anti – ballistic missiles, SAMs etc. and already has full fledged tank manufacturing within India itself. With further developments India seeks to go arms independent as well as the largest manufacturer of arms in the world. Therefore in all respects , India’s decisions are mature and welcomed by every nation. This isn’t a nation that war mongers but arms itself for only defense similar to *Israel – our all weather ally whom have cultural relationships that stretch back 2000 years straight back into the times of King Solomon.*

Ural Crude require specific refinery and India cannot refine 700k/barrel per day, so europe will get its oil from India , minus commision . There is no other way, refinery are all based on a given oil type. Thats why those sanctions are a non-sens. Even the US we need Ural crude for certain petroleum products.
You need to get updated. India has most sophisticated and advanced refineries. It can refine any crude be it from Brazil, Norway, Angola, US, Guyana or Middle east. India purchase oil even from Guyana, Norway and Brazil which are very far as compared to middle east.
