Sri Lanka has closed schools and shut down non-essential government services for two weeks to preserve fuel supplies.
It comes on the same day the government sits down for bailout talks with the International Monetary Fund.
The country is facing its worse economic crisis since the country gained independence in 1948.
A shortage of goods and rising petrol prices are escalating the situation.

The reason being is the Tamils accepted Christianity and attended excellent catholic schools and they spoke English. On the other hand sinhalese where majority Buddhist and where traditionalist and nationalist.
Once the British left all Tamils where kicked out of government institutions and official language was changed to Sinhala. Tamils could not get any jobs and fought for there struggle.
