Some influencers run successful companies. Others make a fortune knowing how to pick them. Ben Horowitz has done both. He co-founded the high-profile venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz, which manages $10 billion in assets, and has hit big with the likes of Facebook, Twitter, and Slack. Before that, he co-launched a data storage company called Loud Cloud, which he later sold to Hewlett Packard for $1.6 billion.
He made waves in 2014 with a best-selling book on how to run a startup. Now he’s back with a new book on building company culture. Horowitz is here to offer his latest insight on the investing landscape and to explain why a company’s success can depend on factors you don’t see on the balance sheet.

Excellent video. Very good interview.
I don’t agree with the fact that once the growth company becomes public there is very little growth left. it depends on the company, but there are plenty of examples where most of the growth came after they went public
I think what he means is the growth is priced into the share price they select for the IPO. Warren Buffett also cites this as a reason for not investing in IPOs; there is little mispricing and no arbitrate opportunities
Good interview, thank you.
Thank you for uploading this interview!
I have finished watching this video completely.
(我看完這部影片了)
I am a Taiwanese who cares about the global affairs.
(我是一個關心全球事務的台灣人)
And, sadly, most of my fellow Taiwanese don’t really care about the world.
(但是,很不幸地,我大部分的台灣同胞不那麼在意世界。)
Hopefully Taiwan can become increasingly globally-aware and globally-competitive.
(希望台灣可以越來越有全球意識與全球競爭力。)
God bless Taiwan.
(天佑台灣。)
great interview!!!
People are leaving the bay area. Remote workers are the norm from my understanding.
Great examples. Very good interview.
The sound exclusion is horrible with emergency sirens 15:02, expected yahoo production level to be better.
So far, I don’t see anything that proves that he’s an ‘angel investor’.
Money money money
A very unusual way of communicating. Obviously a switched on guy, but that was hard to view.
Haha! What is a “switched on” guy?
Nice job trying to acquit yourself when you are the accused and the jury. FB and Twitter is a cash cow for him.
May be he should promote a culture at his firm that looks at the implication of funding a startup and impact on society if the company becomes wildly successful. Worse yet, they sat on the board and they saw the wreck to the country coming their way in slow motion and he gives this interview abd claims what breaking up is going to do!?
Well Mr Horowitz, the only tool left for the Government when company is causing harm to the country is to break-up because while you sat on the board and looked the otherway.
Surprising coming from a fellow, or his pal, who thought colonialism was good for the countries. If he cared to look at the numbers India was 4th largest economy and after colonialism it is a 3rd world with enormous colonist western debt.
Nice video.s
Seeing the name of investor got me curious. But I got to say, having a lucrative investment the gives you time to go about your other daily plans is a definitly a super investment. I have one of such and amazingly I earn 4 figures from it every 7 days
@Nelson Alberto yes you can invest with her from anywhere in the world. A trial will convince you
Am contacting her right now
I can’t wait to settle debts
BS nice marketing
@Jul Jones right! This screams “scam” very loudly! You don’t see real wealthy investors on YouTube comments offering to make you rich if you message their “investor” Catherine on whatsApp lmao!
She is the best at what she does, I can testify to that
Deep wisdom there
Hello, good morning, I know that it will sound very presumptuous of me, but I have 6 startups that are very successful and I would like to sell them. If anyone is interested, leave your whatsap or email. I am looking for serious people.
What’s the Conceit ? The ends don’t justify the means ? No he was saying good is not absolute
You barely touched on angel investing
This video or any of the inner contents don’t mention this wonderful interviewer/ host? The wonderful questions he asked? Great interview. Ben I have followed for so many years.
Andy Serwer! My apologies 😉
15:00 check bridgewater associates
Why is he being referred to as an angel investor? He’s a venture capitalist.
Who titled this? He is no longer really an angel investor and at no point in the video did they talk about how he evaluates companies.
turn from your sins and believe in THE LORD Jesus Christ and be baptized in THE NAME of THE FATHER, THE SON and THE HOLY SPIRIT if you haven’t already
Notice how he gets super annoyed at Andy’s comment at 14:10. Real sign that he genuinely respects entrepreneurs and hates this sort of rhetoric.
So off topic…
Extremely misleading title!
Pure gold here. Thanks for the interview with Ben.
well said🙂
