Authorities are hailing a 22-year-old civilian as a hero after he killed a gunman. The good Samaritan, identified as Elisjsha Dicken, was legally carrying a handgun at an Indiana mall when a 20-year-old gunman entered the food court. Investigators say the gunman went to the restroom, stayed for an hour where he stashed his phone in the toilet, and then emerged with two semi-automatic rifles and a handgun. He started shooting, killing three people and injuring a 12-year-old girl, before he was killed.

Questions about how far away Dicken was when he started shooting. I’ve read 30 yards and also 40 yards. Either one is still a good distance and great accuracy in the face of danger. Kudos Mr Dicken

That way the get the number WAY up to 464. Then when they tell you the only times a civilian stopped a mass shooting by shooting him was 24 times. They do all of this to make it look rare and useless to have an armed civilian in the area where a REAL mass shooting starts. A real mass shooting being one where the killer is crazy, suicidal and shooting strangers for the purpose of getting a large body count just before killing themselves. These are very different from a group of 10 gang members facing off against a group of 8 rival gang members, and then they start shooting at each other, hitting 6 or 7 people, killing 1. That’s not a mass shooting. It’s a gang related shooting.

This isn’t actually that “rare” according to the CDC (They reports on gun violence and fire arm related deaths, as they have declared it an epidemic). The ATF and DHS also report some stats on this but the CDC’s is much more elaborate. Take a look for your self…don’t take my word for it. This doesn’t reflect my personal feelings on this manner, I’m in the middle of the road on a lot of it, agree with some and there is some things I disagree with…I’m just telling ya what the CDC reports.

Crazy that the kid stashed his phone and then tried to go back for it after he had been shot. Like he was going to be able to get it and get out of there in the first place. I hope with more coverage like this, the POS’s that want to shoot up some place will think twice knowing that not everyone in the crowd will be hopeless/defenseless. Maybe if guns are legal (and controlled), citizens can continue to stop these incidences quickly, before the officers can get there. Cops can’t always be there as quick as we need. This man saved probably 20 lives considering recent events.
