An unbearable heat wave is blazing across the country tonight and records are expected to be broken. Nearly 200 million people are experiencing highs today above 90 degrees and 40 million are in areas with triple-digit temperatures. Parts of California, the Central Plains and Texas have highs ranging from 105 to 113 degrees. Children and the elderly are particularly vulnerable to heat-related illness.

Here in Az. This is normal for us for the summer.
If the powers-that-be simply addressed and acted upon what science has known for decades, they could have galvanized the public, laid out a comprehensive plan and maybe we would be having to deal with this mess now. Here in Southeast LA, we had about 10 abnormally hot days in June. High 90’s to around a hundred. July has pretty much been the opposite with highs in the low 90’s and high 80’s. There has been a lot of rain in July. The energy which builds hurricanes seems to be expending itself over the coast rather than over the gulf. If the pattern continues the hurricane season will likely be uneventful.

I live in Tucson, AZ with only a swamp cooler. The other night it remained 100° well into the night with humidity, I didn’t get a minute of sleep. The next day I nearly collapsed from heat exhaustion. This is without a doubt the nastiest weather I’ve ever experienced.

This heat is nothing you can’t take to lightly, it can be very dangerous epecially for the eldery and childeren, drink lots of water, stay in the A/C has much as possible especially during the hottest part of the day, if you don’t have A/C use a fan, if your working outside take lots of breaks and stay in the shade out of the sun if possible.

did everyone miss the news of the solar flare for those days? Earth was hit by a G1-G3 solar flare on jULY (20-22) and some people knew about this a few days before hand. I feel like we might need a full spectrum non biased meteologist to connect the dots of how our climate is vulnerable to both terrestrial and extra terrestrial weather and any other space phenomena.
