At least 15 people have been killed on the second day of anti-United Nations protests in the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s turbulent northeastern region, in attacks UN chief Antonio Guterres said could constitute a ‘war crime’.
Protests erupted on Monday as crowds took to the streets of North Kivu province’s main city Goma against the country’s UN mission – United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO) – which they accuse of failing to stop armed groups’ decades-old fighting.
Demonstrations spread further north to the towns of Beni and Butembo on Tuesday.

The congo is so huge and with many riches but it’s people are among world poorest….a combination of many factors including internal and external factors…for the internal still systemic corruption and a weak army to man its borders…this drives its vulnerability to the external factors….foreign sponsored militia groups infiltrate and exploit the country…The UN is basically there to seem like working but there real of objective is to make sure that the vicious cycle continues….there is a real power struggle by world powers to secure the congo for their own interests…Congo right now supplies 60% of world coltan and cobalt but does not have a single ev or a semi conductor plant….it in interests that they only supply raw materials
