In California, a massive push is underway to get a better handle on the McKinney Fire, the state’s largest wildfire this year. The fire has exploded to nearly 60,000 acres, forcing thousands to evacuate, and has killed at least four people. The deadly blaze is still on the move and a new forecast is predicting more troubling days ahead.

I am so over this every year! When are the people going to start holding their officials accountable for not being smart enough to put these blazes out year after year? They try and chalk it up to global warming, yet a good portion are man made. The government is intentionally letting this happen. We used to be able to get these fires put out fairly quickly, now all of a sudden, local governments act like they don’t know what they’re doing, and there are almost no consequences for the perpetrators. Start putting the resources and manpower behind these programs and we wouldn’t have this issue. Again, when are the people going to start holding our local governments accountable, instead of just accepting that it keeps happening?
At least we can all agree that its the state governments fault for squandering conservation funds. They collect money but don’t use available resources. All to push another doomsday plot that only they can save us from if we pay more taxes.
