Russia hits critical infrastructure, leading to blackouts: Kharkiv governor
Officials in east Ukraine on Sunday blamed Russian attacks on key facilities for widespread blackouts that hit large areas of the country where Kyiv’s forces have been making gains in a counter-offensive.
The governor of the eastern Kharkiv region said Russian attacks on “critical infrastructure” had disrupted electricity and water supplies, while the head of the Dnipropetrovsk region said Moscow’s forces had “hit energy infrastructure” in relatiation for “defeat on the battlefield”.

Freedom from tyranny isn’t free, Ukraine has risen to the occasion again and again just in the past few years in terms of increasing good faith in pushing to leave behind the Soviet legacy of corruption and incompetence and in their battlefield performance. It is NOT just western arms, Afghani forces had plenty of those and crumbled into dust. It is a mark of greatness of the Ukrainian people and leaders to chart their own destiny as a free country with real elections and a real future.

The Ukrainian Kharkov Offensive: Results
The Russians had already planned to leave the area before the Ukrainian Kharkov offensive because the forest around Izyum doesn’t favor Russian troops, who had been stuck there for two months…
The Russians appeared to withdraw quickly because many troops and supply forces had already left the region before media coverage focused on the area (most of the videos posted of abandoned equipment were from other times and locations. Any Russian equipment left in the actual combat zone was destroyed on purpose).
The Ukranians (and NATO) were aware of the Russian withdrawal from the area and wanted to capitalize on slanting the optics of the withdrawal by taking the territory and attacking the departing rear guard of the withdrawing Russian troops. They moved soldiers and equipment into the Kharkov region. The Russians were aware and prepared for this. The Ukrainians advanced quickly, almost unchecked, until they were far from their own artillery and backup equipment. As the Ukrainians entered this unprotected space, the Russians started pounding them with their artillery and air strikes. Then the elite Russian units came in, and a real battle took place, causing more casualties to the Ukrainians. After that, the Russian troops continued to withdraw to the other side of the river and ambushed any remaining Ukrainians as they tried to cross.
Overall, if one includes the Ukrainian losses of the Kherson offensive, the estimated results are that 4,000 Ukrainian troops were killed… Russia lost a buffer zone to their controlled territory of Kharkov, and the remaining civilians in the area now find themselves in a difficult situation and may face severe reprisals at the hands of the Ukrainian security forces, who will consider them to be “Russian collaborators.” Hopefully, a Bucha type retribution scenario will not take place.
The Russian army is intact, ready to counter attack or redeploy, however, Russia lost credibility among pro Russians. It’s a political blow to Putin if he doesn’t do something strong enough to soothe public opinion. Political approval for Zelensky is bolstered with an optical media victory, and he gained increased EU approval and more US support, but at a terribly high cost in Ukrainian lives.

The counteroffensive in Kherson region was a complete disaster for Ukraine. The Kharkiv offensive was easy as the allied troops of DNR and LNR and RF withdrew. You don’t get the full information and this is not a turn of the war – you are being misled by all this “specialists”. The 2,000 km2 is just 1/40 of the whole captured territory. They are lying to you about Kherson!!! Ukraine lost that offensive miserably…
