South Africa is flying cheetahs to Mozambique and India in an effort to reintroduce the spotted cats in regions where their population has dwindled. Indian officials say the move will aid global cheetah conservation efforts since their range across parts of Africa is limited.

Cheetah is also native to India until Britishers and indian kings hunted them down to extinction. And India’s wildlife conservation is way better Africa’s. All the big cat’s Snow leopards , Asiatic lions, leopards and Tiger has tripled their population in India in last two decades. So there is nothing to worry about.
india has had cheetahs till 1952. Forests especially in central India don’t have a dominant predator which is deestroying those forests in which cheetah will fit in perfectly.

Those regions killed their animals via pollution, encroaching upon the cheetahs wildlife area, and over hunting. South Africa is doing a disservice by send them cheetahs where such areas are know to disrespect the animals in the first place and have done nothing to stop the offensiveness to the animals.

They existed till 1952 because of excessive hunting by British people and some Indian kings. We got independent in 1947 they were nearly gone by 1947 and declared extinct in 1952 before these huntings they were nearly 10000 cheetahs during 1800s.
