Bulgaria has also gone to the polls for its fourth parliamentary election in eighteen months, amid soaring consumer prices and energy costs.
Results show that the centre-right party led by Boyko Borissov, a former prime minister, is set to take the most votes.
But forming a government will be no easy task.

Electricity, fertilizers, food, grain, chemicals, arms…I am missing a lot I think.
Well, our economy is non-existant (almost). We produced much more before joining the EU. The EU closed down most of our factories like the chocolate factory of the chocolates “Svoge, Republika and Mlechen” Now they are imported from Latvia and Lithuania. Even basic fruits and vegetables are imported from Greece or Türkiye.
We still have some factories for sweets working like in Plovdiv, Gorna Orjahovica and shoes from Gabrovo but as I said our economy after 90-s is almost non-existant.
The biggest export is propably still the rose oil but that’s it.

Think before you speak brother.. What we Europeans suffer is nothing compared to the Ukrainians, and if your country ever got attacked like that by a bigger aggressor I bet you would appreciate the same help.
@Hammurabi feeling the same, actually most of the younger population feels this way. It’s mostly the conservatives (usually middle aged+ people) that spread anti ukrainean mood throughout the EU or at least that’s whats happening in czech republic.

Nobody sees this on the left what is happening in Europe? The countries are waking up finally. First Sweden, than Italy, now Bulgaria all turned to the right. Also France has now a powerfull right with Marin Lepene. USA is the next with midterms and all of Europe will come to their sences. Now we have Poland, Sweden, Denmark, Italy, Hungary, Bulgaria, Czeh Republic on the right and soon I think Austria, Slovakia and even Romania will join the club. This nonsense with the sanctions is hurting the europeans not Russia. Also people are fed up with crimes, immigration, huge energy prices, gender idiologies, wokism. Europe wants normality. Its time to come back to common sense.
This wave of right wing political parties sweeping across europe and US was long back expected : migration from developing and backward regions was profitable for a few capitalist and was at the cost of the local labour, when this limit of tolerance got crossed the backlash was inevitable….now even the less affected nations by international migration are reacting on the same lines ….
