Protesters in Ghana are calling for President Nana Akufo-Addo to step down as the country faces a worsening economic crisis.
Rising fuel prices and soaring inflation have angered people already struggling to get by.

Nana Addo’s Incompetence and lies has killed Ghana more than colonialism or any coup Ghana has suffered. His insatiable appetite for Chronic Nepotism, Cronyism , Corruption, Tribal Bigotry, Reckless Borrowing , Rampant Lies and Gross disregard for the cry of the Ghanaian populace is what has led us this far into the ditch. His cousin the finance minister profits from any monies Ghana borrows from the international capital markets hence the reckless borrowing leading to our current unsustainable levels of our debt stock. Under his tenure as president Ghanaians have suffered more human rights abuse than any government under the forth republic.
If this is how the people feel, then how did he win an election and get re-elected for a second term?

The president has no control on what is going on globally. Before the pandemic, ghanas economy was the fastest growing economy nd it seems people ve forgotten. Everyone is suffering globally. Our main issue in ghana is that we import most of our goods. Am glad atleast he has banned most goods. Buy made in ghana. 3rd nobody wants to pay taxes in ghana but expect the government to do everything for us nd cry when our government go nd borrow. We need to look at ourselves as citizens too. We are also the problem. Most of the youth wants fast money now.

We have planting for food program yet food inflation in ghana is 122%

If it’s a matter of international market. Every country buy prices on the international market at the international market rate so every country is exposed to the same pricing.
Or food from the planting for food program is sold to traders at international prices?

@kelvin adu Noone said every nation is suffering from inflation & currency devaluation. Every nation grows at least some food, so the food program is not the point. More developed nations who export oil and gas & food won’t deal with that type of inflation. Russia, US and China are some examples.
Also, a lot of what makes a currency value go down is done by the international market. When the US dollar’s value goes up , every other currency goes down. Investors pulling their money out of the Ghanaian market to move it to safer nations also plays a big role
