911 need to telling people nock the door people home near by..but they failed 😒 let them stay in the car end up dead sad..heartbreaking 💔😢🙏
Its always crazy to understand that when people live in a place that has disaster conditions that are incoming such as Tornadoes Hurricanes and Earthquakes its always smart to be prepared. In this case its the city’s fault for lacking the understanding of the severity of the situation that ultimately cost peoples lives. Also common sense has a lot to do with it also, if there is a blizzard coming maybe stay at home !
Nope, unprecedented storm brings overwhelming challenges. Also every place has its weather and geological challenges. You are just used to yours and perhaps do not know what is in store just around the corner.
@ruth depew Not really ?
Common sense has a lot to do with that also now. The city I live in is on point when it comes to weather alerts and other protocols to keep the big brained people safe. We have the equipment and man power here to actually fund a community to clear roadways safe in blizzard conditions.
Look on Dec. 27 last year, Lake Tahoe recorded 193.7 inches of snow in one day, breaking the previous record of 179 inches set in 1970. An additional 20-plus inches fell between Dec. 27 and 31, cementing 2021 in the history books for the snowiest December on record here. Totaling more than 17 feet of snow in less than a week.
I don’t think people get used to 17 feet of snow ! But they cleared it all away in one day and the community pulled its resources and everyone helped out. What kind of community is in buffalo is odd but that why I live on the west coast choose your tribes wisely it could cost you your life.
@ruth depew You must be an airhead
What about vehicles with odd license plates on one day and vehicles with even license plates on another day. That way you’ll have half as many vehicles using the road.
People would reject that proposal because “freedom”
Every vehicle on the road impedes the clearance and emergency response activities. Cutting the number in half is still way too many.
Lol sounds like a pain in the butt.
Response? The elite get the swiftest response.
Joe and Jane Average? Wait it out. Bundle up. Pray.
Dump in the Mississippi!!
I can’t see how you blame anyone for so much snow falling.
Why must there be someone to blame
People find it easier to have someone they feel they can hold responable rather than face the possiblity of events that were are mostly powerless to stop. Humanity has gotten used to having a sense of control, at least in the richer places of the world. Facing realities where we don’t is a shock people’s world view.
@Bryn Phillips I couldn’t sum it up better
Because Buffalo in particular has an exceptional death toll.
The blame game begins. As for the county official, the suburbs and countryside are easier to clear of snow. There is more room everywhere to put the excess snow and stranded vehicles. In the city, it is exponentially more difficult to execute the logistics of removing snow and vehicles to non impeding locations.
Totally agree btw I live here
There’s vehicles in the way,you tow them and bury them in snow. Problem solved. Two birds, one stone.
@Billy Yank You still need to move them somewhere else and the closest available location in dense urban areas could still be a long way from where you are trying to clear. Do remember, some of these streets have so much snow in them they are mostly submerging the cars left in the street. All that extra hauling adds a lot of work to the job.
Bring in the national guard with shovels.
They are already here lol. To much to shovel
With shovels? They should have heavy equipment to move all that and recover vehicles.
@Billy Yank ok.
@Micah Powell maybe flame throwers.
Blame on Biden
BDS Stage 5 🚨👉🤡
It was actually an act of mother nature lol
Republican Party is. Traitors
What’s with all this blame being laid on emergency responders?? People were warned with plenty of time to make rational decisions about getting into their vehicles or going to the airport. Enough!
Warned literally 40 years ago to stop burning fossil fuels. Burning more is just kicking the can down the road and killing 40 more people next year.
They can use thirsty cement and use native trees and put the snow around the trees so when it melts the streets don’t flood and the trees get watered.
Whats thirsty cement look it up its a 1 minute video.
It won’t melt till March
@Justa Youtuber and?
Not the city’s fault all those morons chose to drive in such conditions.
We knew about climate change 40 fkn years ago. I have some questions about the response time too.
If i choose to leave my home in the middle of a blizzard and i don’t come back, only blame me.
Efficient system to adopt, up coming extreme conditions, to save lives
This is what makes me mad. We did not learn anything from Katrina. How long in the aftermath did it take for them to deploy the 1st Cav and 82nd Abn to New Orleans in the aftermath of that disaster. Fort Drum is literally 3 hours away from Buffalo. The 10th Mountain Division has access to specialized recovery equipment not available to first responders. You have motivated good hearted Soldiers up there who would have not hesitated to help Buffalo given a moments notice. One Brigade Combat Team of about 7000 Soldiers spreading out thru Buffalo would have made a huge difference and possibly saved lives.
Fort drum is buried in its own 5ft of snow lol. Get with it.
Not exactly what activite duty military is for. That’s all national guard duties you’ve detailed.
@Billy Yank As I recall, mind you its been years but in the aftermath of Katrina the 82nd Abn and 1st Cav under the leadership of General Honore took charge and really got New Orleans back on its feet. Both are active duty units. All Im saying is that in my opinion Drum was more equipped to handle this storm than first responders.
Perhaps they can deploy the Space Force also……🙄🚀🛰🛸👽
Givmoneyto Ukraine! Giv giv! Thank you verimach! 🇺🇦🙏❤️🏳️🌈
This is ridiculous, people are always looking for someone to blame, this was an Act of God no one can control the weather
If you actually rely on the Government to help you in times of need, then blame yourself for being stupid.
Schools should have been closed Thursday. Only emergency personnel on roads Friday. Ban on roads Friday to public. Healthcare should have been provided with 72 hours of housing in hospitals. Blizzard was announced a week prior. That was the time to prepare. Anyone who had special needs with healthcare, medications and generators in case of power outages needed to take care upon learning of blizzard a week prior. Hopefully there will be a review to better educate persons for future. If you have a Disaster Management Department in your state, join and learn . I lived in NE, parents taught us to prepare for worst. If there is a de icing available similar to aircraft, multiple persons are in need in Buffalo to prevent collapse of homes.
Your safety is your responsibility in most cases. There’s exceptions…but for capable able bodied adults, your safety and well Being starts with yourself. Everyone knew the storm was coming. What were they supposed to do? Plow roads in white out blizzard conditions? Set up huge tent cities? What were they supposed to do?
Catastrophic Snow Fall. No one to “Blame”. It was an “Act of God”. Critics most likely have Never Held a Snow Shovel, in their entire life.
National Guard should have been called in Saturday. Still hard to believe so many deaths. Too many preventable deaths.
Yes, the military could have done a lot to assist in these types of situations! MRE / food supplies for example!
you cant stop DumbAsses
Mother nature reminding everyone who’s in control!
There should be no blame placed on anyone. It’s common sense to stay home in that kind of weather.
Sounds like you said the blame should be on the ones who went out in the conditions. That would actually be ‘someone’ then, wouldn’t it?
Get the book Suburban & Urban Survival Guide by Tom Brown the Tracker! Tom covers what to do in many different situations including snow storms, hurricanes, tornadoes and earthquakes .Tom was trained as a young child by an Apache Elder &:Scout Grandfather Stalking Wolf. Tom actually lived 1 year alone in the Bob Marshall Wildness Area in Montana, Grizzley bear country! He only took in 1 knife! He even made his own clothes! Tom also trained US Army Rangers on Native American survival techniques. You working WITH NOT AGAINST NATURE! He also tracked many missing children for the FBI! I highly recommend Tom’s book. He makes the point that when the power goes down, we are not that much different from our pioneer ancestors!
Flip side… You cant tell people that they cant travel, but you can provide proper equipment for dealing with the snow… It snows here where I live all the time… We know how to deal with it… The world does not stop for snow around here… We make sure we have the right tires, the right vehicles, the right tools – and day to day live goes on… Its just Winter… A good ole strong Winter…
No doubt libs will blame conservatives again
Mother Nature always wins … duhhhh stay home 🏠…. Sadly some people went out still … 🌧️🌨️🌨️🌨️🌨️🌨️
What kind of response do you expect? Flamethrowers to melt the snow on the roads? Napalm? Wtf? What else are they supposed to do? Why didn’t you go outside and help people?
CCP is weaponizing Covid 19 (AGAIN). Don’t let ANY of the Chinese into America or anywhere else for that matter! Don’t you find it a bit odd their opening the borders to travel now that they have lost control (again), think people! It’s on PURPOSE! CCP doesn’t do anything by accident. Haven’t you heard how good they are at faking things, you think a little thing like a Covid card/paper will be hard to replicate?! They can replicate the 1880’s Morgan Dollar perfectly for goodness sake’s. Don’t trust them or you’ll regret it. It will be 2020 all over again and GOPer’s will have something on you for 2024. They are weaponizing Covid 19 AGAIN. You’ve been warned!
We must accept that officials make mistakes while doing the best they can. During tragic events such as this blizzard, it’s hard to swallow when lives are lost. Let’s extend compassion while we right the wrongs. ♥️
the govt didnt tell these idiots to go out in a storm, so govt has no blame
Someone in need, HELP !!!
The world is broken & there’s absolutely nothing wrong with trying to put it back together.
It’s is your brother/sister.
I AM hungry
I AM thirsty
I AM never welcomed
I AM naked
I AM sick
I AM incarcerated
Thanks to the Barber gentleman❤🙏
You woke green leftists must be happy with the snow covered solar panels and frozen windmills . We know you hate oil and gas. How’s that working for you. Happy now. Sure am glad you’ve got that global warming to count on. Ha,ha,ha,…
and every time the govt makes a suggestion to help their citizens, they ALWAYS do the opposite.
LMFAO… It’s snow, not a tornado not an earthquake. You sit home then shovel out. 😂😂😂😂😂
“It’s not my fault. It’s climate change’s fault.” – Hochul
These people: “Hahaha, look at those crazy preppers preparing for emergencies like major blizzards.”
Also these people: “Help! I’m stuck, have no heat, and am hungry!”
Got here just to say that I don’t care.
Biden is crazy
Sad
