In South Africa, the wealth disparity is clearly evident in Alexandra township. Located a few kilometres from the Sandton district, it is often referred to as “Africa’s richest square mile”.
Talking to Al Jazeera, one person there described the dire economic inequality in the area.

Believe me when I say the government is corrupt to the bone and is treating those that are successful (Sandton, Pretoria, Cape Town etc) with respect and the underprivileged with disrespect. Right now we are experiencing Load shedding but those rich suburbs never ever see their electricity go off. Equality is all we are praying for in South Africa.
