If a caboose was in service like the days of old, the crew would have smelled the smoke or they would have spotted the sparks going around the bends during vision check. Sounds like we need to enforce the regulations that we already have. These companies have had all the grace periods they needed and made no progress on following the regulations. It’s time for fines and pulling licensees to operate. Their reported profits show they have the money to comply, but choose not to. If this country is one of law and order, it’s time to enforce it.
