This case sounds eerily similar to the Jeffrey Dahmer case from decades ago, who would also cook and cannibalize his victims.
@Clint Elder not really. It’s a revenge killing. She wasn’t chosen at random, they killed her for the decisions she was making.
And I will need more evidence to prove that just because they cooked parts of her that they also ate her.

For those that are wondering about the motive – because Hong Kong is so overpopulated and real estate is so expensive, to discourage rich Chinese from crowding out everyone the HK Government imposes a hefty surcharge (30% I believe) on people buying their second home. It seems the family bought a $10M apartment in the influencers name to avoid this surcharge while she was married to their son, and when the marriage failed she basically said ‘see you later it’s my apartment’.
According to HK local press, she paid for that apartment and had it under the ex-FIL’s name (perhaps to avoid that hefty tax you mentioned), and the ex husband’s family lives there. And recently she wanted to sell the apartment and wanna relocate the ex’s family (her attorney advised her that if she can prove in court that she was the one who paid for it she could still sell it even though on paper it’s under her ex-FIL’s name. The ex’s family doesn’t wanna move out of this luxurious apartment and that’s the motive to murder her.
@Hikki I heard that in the media too, but it’s very unlikely scenario. I live in Hong Kong and the scenario I explained is very common. The probability that a 28-year old influencer could afford a $3MUSD apartment in Hong Kong and her tenants turned on her upon getting evicted is far less likely.
@Vlada isn’t she from a wealthy family? That actually makes a lot more sense to me if her original family is rich to begin with. It actually makes less sense for the ex’s family to be able to afford that flat. Her ex has been unemployed for like ever and her ex-FIL was a retired police officer….no retired public servant can afford that kind of luxurious apartment with pension from the HK govt. And I read that even the ex-MIL had filed bankruptcy, and the ex-BIL is employed by her as her driver too. Seems to me that her ex family is a bunch of 軟飯王。

A lot of influencers sadly have the same look these days. Too much plastic surgery, filters, fillers, and photoshop. They spend hours editing their videos and photos for the world to see their seemingly perfect life when it’s very likely just a facade. She probably already had work done and the photos are still edited, but she looked prettier in her past photos. And it’s really sad how she couldn’t see that. Moral of the story is people shouldn’t be influenced by influencers in the way that they think their life sucks compared to them. I do still feel very sorry for her though because she did not deserve to die like this. Not sure what she did to deserve this. 🙁
